Open Season for Game in Acclimatisation Districts

IMPORTANT—The closed game areas and special conditions published in the Supplement dated 28 February 1955 to the Gazette of 24 February 1955, apply, subject to amendments thereto and deletions therefrom published in Gazettes of 28 March 1956, 4 April 1957, 17 April 1958, and in this notice, to the 1959 open season for game. Also applicable to the 1959 open season for game are the additional closed game areas and special conditions published in the aforementioned Gazettes of 28 March 1956, 4 April 1957, 17 April 1958, and in this notice.

PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs declares an open season for game of the kinds specified in this notice in relation to each acclimatisation district during the periods and subject to the bag limits set forth in relation to each acclimatisation district and subject to the special conditions and closed game areas specified in relation to certain acclimatisation districts as published in the Supplement dated 28 February 1955 to the Gazette of 24 February 1955, Gazettes of 28 March 1956, 4 April 1957, 17 April 1958, and this notice. The attention of all sportsmen and others is drawn to the provisions of the said Act as set forth in the Third Schedule published in the aforementioned Supplement to Gazette of 24 February 1955.

Ashburton Acclimatisation District
