Objections to Hastings City District Scheme

THE Hastings City Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of objections to the district scheme relating to Hastings will commence at the City Council Chambers, Hastings Street, Hastings, at 9.30 o’clock in the forenoon, on Monday, the 27th day of April 1959, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place until all objectors and witnesses have been heard.

All persons who wish to be heard in support of or opposition to any objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date.

The following is a summary of the subject-matters of objections received by the Council:

OTOROHANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Supply Reticulation Loan 1958, £16,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Otorohanga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of sixteen thousand pounds (£16,000) authorised to be raised by the Otorohanga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the water reticulation of the Borough, the said Otorohanga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny (⁷⁄₈d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Otorohanga, comprising the whole of the Borough of Otorohanga; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable half yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Otorohanga Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 25th day of February 1959.

TAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Act 1956 and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Tawa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purposes of providing interest and other charges on the Sewerage and Water Reticulation Supplementary Loan 1959 of £27,070 authorised to be raised under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and, pursuant to the consent given by Order in Council as contained in Gazette No. 14, page 282, of the 5th day of March 1959, the Tawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·6d. in the pound on all rateable unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Tawa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Tawa Borough Council at a special meeting held on Monday, 16 March 1959, at 8 p.m.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wellington City Aerodrome Development Loan No. 7 1958 of £167,680

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council on the 9th day of March 1959:

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one hundred and sixty-seven thousand six hundred and eighty pounds (£167,680) to be known as the Wellington City Aerodrome Development Loan No. 7 1958 of £167,680 authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting portion of the Council’s share of the cost of the Rongotai Airport Development Scheme, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of seventy-three eight-hundredths of a penny (73/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
