SECOND SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 2s, Taikorea Settlement, being the intersection of the eastern side of the Wanganui-Levin State Highway and the southern side of Milners Line; then easterly along the southern side of Milners Line to and along the south-western side of the Rangiotu-Rongotea Main Highway to a point in the middle of Sluggish Creek and up the middle of that creek to the southern side of Kaimatarau Road; then easterly along a right line across that road to the south-western corner of Lot 25, D.P. 514; then northerly along the south-eastern side of Leens Line, across the Longburn-Tangimoana Main Highway, and again along Leens Line to the westernmost corner of Section 1s, Fairfield Settlement; then south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that section and the south-eastern boundary of Section 2s, Fairfield Settlement, to the south-western side of Taipo Road; then south-easterly along that side of Taipo Road to the north-western side of Greens Road; then south-westerly along that side of Greens Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 1s, Kopane Settlement; then easterly to and along that boundary and southerly along the eastern boundary of that section, and Sections 2s, 3s, and 4s, Kopane Settlement, and across the Kopane Road to the north-western corner of Section 13s, Kopane Settlement; then easterly along the southern side of that road and its production to the middle of the Oroua River; then south-westerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern side of the Foxton-Palmerston North Railway; then westerly to and along that side and the northern side of the Palmerston North-Himatangi State Highway to the eastern side of Kellows Line; then northerly along the last-mentioned side to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 128, D.P. 906, to and along that boundary, the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3119, the northern boundary of Lot 128, D.P. 906, and its production across Kellows Line, along the eastern side of Kellows Line to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 3706, the eastern and northern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 3706, to and along the eastern side of Kellows Line to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 19776; then westerly to and along that boundary, the western boundary of that lot to and along the northern side of Taikorea Road to the eastern side of the Wanganui-Levin State Highway; then northerly along the eastern side of that highway, to the north-western corner of Section 2s, Taikorea Settlement, being the point of commencement.

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Edendale Rabbit District Order 1959.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Edendale Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of December 1941,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE EDENDALE RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of land in the County of Southland, Southland Land District, containing by estimation 73,500 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded as follows:

Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Mataura River, in line with the southern boundary of the Borough of Gore, as comprised and described in Gazette, of 16 July 1953, at page 1154; then south-westerly generally along the left bank of the Mataura River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 76, Block XVII, Town of Mataura Bridge, south-easterly to and along that boundary, to the northern boundary of Tuturau Rabbit District, as described and comprised in the Gazette, of 12 April 1951, at page 489; then southerly and westerly along that northern boundary of the said Tuturau Rabbit District to the right bank of the Mataura River; then south-westerly generally

along the right bank of the Mataura River to a point in line with the southern side of the Seaward Bush Branch Railway; then westerly to and along the southern side of the said Seaward Bush Branch Railway to the north-western corner of the eastern part of Section 34, Block IX, Oteramika Hundred; then westerly by a right line across a railway reserve to the north-eastern corner of the western part of Section 34, Block IX aforesaid; then westerly along the southern side of the said Seaward Bush Branch Railway to a point in line with the western side of the Invercargill-Fortrose Main Highway, adjoining Sections 48, 51, 52, and 53, Block VII, Oteramika Hundred; then northerly generally to and along the western side of the said main highway; the western side of the Morton Mains-Gorge Road, and the western side of the Dacre-Gorge Main Highway, to a point in line with a closed road intersecting Lot 2 on plan numbered 3811 and deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill; then easterly and northerly generally along the northern and western side of the said closed road intersecting the said Lot 2, Lot 1 on the plan numbered 546 and deposited as aforesaid, Lots 2 and 1 on the plan numbered 3811 and deposited as aforesaid, to and across Tramway Road to the northern side thereof; then westerly along the northern side of Tramway Road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 31 on plan numbered 158 and deposited as aforesaid; then northerly along the eastern boundaries of Lots 31 and 30 on the said plan numbered 158, and the western side of Swains Road, across a public road to the southern side of the Main South Railway; then north-easterly along the southern side of the said Main South Railway, to a point in line with the western side of Downs Road; then northerly across the said Main South Railway, to and along the said western side of Downs Road to the southern side of a public road forming the northern boundary of Lot 1 on plan numbered 1926 and deposited as aforesaid; then along the southern side of the said public road, to and across Titipua Valley Road; then north-easterly generally along the western sides of Titipua Valley Road, Milne Road, and Hedley-Wright Road to the Titipua Stream; then north-easterly generally along the said Titipua Stream to and across the Waitane-Mataura Main Highway to the northern side thereof; then easterly along the northern side of the said Waitane-Mataura Main Highway to the western side of a public road forming the eastern boundaries of Lots 4, 5, 6, and 7 on plan numbered 174 and deposited as aforesaid; then north-easterly generally along the western side of the said public road and the western side of the Glendu-Mataura Road to the southern side of the Winton-Gore Main Highway; then northerly and easterly along the southern side of the said main highway to the western boundary of the Borough of Gore as described as aforesaid; then south and east along the western and southern boundaries of the said Borough of Gore to the left bank of the Mataura River, the point of commencement. Excluding from the above description the Edendale Town District as comprised and described in Gazette, of 10 July 1913, page 2111.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE GLENCOE RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of land in the Southland Land District, Southland County, containing by estimation 75,700 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads and streams, and bounded as follows:

Commencing at the confluence of the Hedgehope Stream and the Makarewa River; then in a north-easterly direction generally along the left bank of the Makarewa River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 193, Block V, Forest Hill Hundred; then easterly generally across a road reserve and along the southern boundaries of Sections
