Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a meeting place for the Ngaitama Hapu of the Whakatohea tribe and other Maoris living in the locality.

Boundaries of Town District of Murupara and County of Whakatane Altered

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

1. On and from the 1st day of April 1959, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the Town District of Murupara and included in the County of Whakatane.
2. The alteration of boundaries of the said town district and the said county hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM TOWN DISTRICT OF MURUPARA AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF WHAKATANE

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District containing 475 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of part Whirinaki 1, Section 2A, in Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, on the northern side of a public road and proceeding easterly generally along that roadside to and up the middle of the Whirinaki River to a point in line with the western boundary of Whirinaki 1, Section 2B; thence along a right line to and along that boundary to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Whirinaki 1, Section 2, as shown on M.L. 16166; thence westerly along a right line across part Whirinaki 1, Section 2F Block, to and along the said southern boundary and its production across the last-mentioned block. and the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway to its western side; thence northerly along the western side of that highway to the first angle northward from the eastern corner of Section 53, Block XIII, Galatea Survey District; thence along a right line to and northerly along the middle of the public road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 18 and 45, Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, Lots 153, 156, and 152, D.P. S. 4889, Lot 269, D.P. S. 4890, and part Section 59, and that middle line produced to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of Sluggish River Drainage District Altered

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

1. As on and from the 1st day of April 1959, the areas described in the First Schedule hereto are hereby included in the Sluggish River Drainage District.
2. The boundaries of the Sluggish River Drainage District as so altered shall be as defined in the Second Schedule hereto.
3. The alteration of boundaries of the said district hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Land Drainage Act 1908.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREAS INCLUDED IN SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 162, folio 133, being part Lot 128, D.P. 906, and being also part of Section 316, Township of Carnarvon, containing 218 acres 1 rood 20·7 perches, more or less, situated in Block XIV, Te Kawau Survey District.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District being Lot 2, D.P. 19776, being also part Section 314, Township of Carnarvon, containing 196 acres 1 rood 23 perches, more or less, situated in Block X, Te Kawau Survey District.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being Sections 13s and 14s, Kopane Settlement, containing 66 acres 3 roods 15 perches, more or less, situated in Block V, Kairanga Survey District. S.O. Plan 17230.
