February 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Wharepuhunga-
    Korakonui Rabbit District Order 1959.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Wharepuhunga-Korakonui Rabbit
    District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the
    4th day of November 1935,* are hereby altered and redefined;
    and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries
    of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule
    hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WHAREPUHUNGA-KORAKONUI RABBIT
DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, the
Counties of Otorohanga, Waipa, and Waitomo, containing
113,400 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at
the junction of the right bank of the Mangatutu Stream with
the left bank of the Puniu River, in Block XI, Puniu Survey
District, and proceeding easterly and southerly generally up
the last-mentioned left bank, up the left banks of the Owai-
raka and Kaiwhio Streams to and westerly generally along
the northern side of Rotongata Road, the north-eastern side
of Aotearoa Road, the northern side of Wharepapa Road to
the left bank of the Puniu River aforesaid, in Block I,
Wharepapa Survey District; thence southerly generally up
that left bank and up the left bank of a tributary of the
Puniu River to and along the northern and eastern boun-
daries of Section 5A, Block II, Ranginui Survey District, along
a right line crossing Mangatutu Road to and along the
north-western boundaries of Sections 9 and 13, Block II
aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of Block I, Ranginui
Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the
eastern and the southern boundaries of the aforesaid Block I,
to and down the middle of the Tunawaea Stream to and
generally northerly down the right bank of the Waipa River
to the south-eastern side of a public road forming the north-
western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 33C 3B 2A, in Block
VI, Mangaorongo Survey District; thence north-easterly gene-
rally along the aforesaid south-eastern side, the south-eastern
sides of the Rangiatea Road, the Otorohanga-Maihihi Main
Highway, and Whibley Road, to and up the middle of the
Mangaorongo Stream to and easterly generally along the
northern side of the aforesaid main highway, to and along
the north-eastern boundary of Rangitoto A 15E 2 and the
southern boundaries of Sections 12s, 11s, and 10s, Puke-
mapou Settlement, and the southern, eastern, and northern
boundaries of Rangitoto A 5 2c to its northernmost corner;
thence northerly generally along a right line across Happy
Valley Road to and along the eastern boundaries of Sections
8s, 7s, and 6s, Pukemapou Settlement, along another right
line to and along the western boundaries of Sections 4 and 3,
Block III, Mangaorongo Survey District; along the eastern
boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 25759, part Rangitoto A 1 shown
on D.P. 12831, along the western boundary of Section 4, the
southern and western boundaries of Section 3, the western
and northern boundaries of Section 8, along a right line
crossing Wharepuhunga Road to and along the northern
boundary of Section 9, the southern boundaries of Sections
1 and 5, all the aforesaid sections being of Block XV, Puniu
Survey District, and along a right line, being the last-
mentioned boundary produced across the Mangatutu Stream
to its right bank; thence northerly down the right bank of
that stream to the point of commencement.

    District Order 1959.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Te Awamutu Rabbit District,
    which was constituted by Order in Council on the 28th day of
    September 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined; and, as
    from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the
    said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TE AWAMUTU RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Counties
of Waipa and Otorohanga, and the Kihikihi Town District,
containing 149,400 acres, more or less, commencing at the
junction of the middle of the Mangapiko Stream with the
middle of the Waipa River, in Block IV, Pirongia Survey
District, and proceeding easterly generally up the middle of
the Mangapiko Stream to a point in line with the north-
western boundary of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 77; thence southerly,
easterly, northerly, and north-westerly generally along a right
line to and along the generally western, southern, eastern,
and north-eastern boundaries of the Borough of Te Awamutu,
as described in Gazette, 1925, page 14, to the middle of the
Mangapiko Stream, in Block II, Puniu Survey District; thence
northerly and easterly generally up the middle of the
Mangapiko Stream to a point in line with the north-eastern
boundary of Section 1s, Puahue Settlement; thence again
generally easterly along a right line to and along the afore-
said north-eastern boundary and the north-eastern boundaries
of Sections 2s, 4s, 5s, the generally northern boundary of
part Section 10s all the aforesaid sections, being of Puahue
Settlement and along the generally northern and eastern
boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 33188, to and along the southern
boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 33188, part Lot 4, D.P. 12622, and
Maungatautari 4G 2, to and along the north-western boundary
of Section 31, Tautari Settlement, and along a right line to
Trig Station P (Pukeatua) and along a right line to Trig
Station 1427 (Maungatautari), both the said stations being
in Block VII, Maungatautari Survey District; thence southerly
generally along the Matamata County boundary, as described
in Gazette, 1950, page 277, to and up the middle of the Waiteti
Stream, to and along the western boundary of part Section 10A,
to and easterly along the northern side of the Kihikihi-Arapuni
Main Highway to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Section 26, Tautari Settlement; thence again
southerly generally along a right line across the aforementioned
main highway to and along the said south-eastern boundary
crossing the intervening Te Ana Road to and along the south-
western boundary of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 21882, crossing the
intervening Mangare Road, along the south-western boundary
of part Section 7A, Tautari Settlement, and the production of
that south-western boundary across a public road to and up
the left bank of the Waikato River (Arapuni Lake) to and
up the middle of the Waipapa River to and up the middle
of the Tongatongarerewa Stream to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Section 9; thence westerly generally
along a right line to and along that southern boundary and
the southern boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, the aforesaid
sections being of Block III, Ranginui Survey District, the
eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Wharepuhunga 17B
and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and easterly
along the middle of a road which forms the southern
boundaries of the aforesaid 17B, Section 6, Block III, Sections
11, 10, 17, 16, and 6, Block II, the aforesaid blocks being of
Ranginui Survey District to a point in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Section 5A, Block II aforesaid; thence
northerly generally along a right line to and along that south-
eastern boundary and the eastern and northern boundaries
of the aforesaid Section 5A to the left bank of a tributary of
the Puniu River; thence again northerly generally up that left
bank and the left bank of the Puniu River, to and easterly
generally along the northern side of Wharepapa Road the
north-eastern side of Aotearoa Road, the northern side of
Rotongata Road to and northerly and westerly generally
down the left banks of the Kaiwhio and Owairaka Streams,
the left bank of the Puniu River, to its junction with the
middle of the Mangatutu Stream, in Block XI, Puniu Survey
District; thence down the middle of the Puniu River aforesaid
to and down the middle of the Waipa River to the point of
commencement.
