Boundaries of County of Taumarunui and Borough of Taumarunui Altered

At the Government House at Wellington this 25th day of February 1959.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1959, the areas described in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Taumarunui and included in the Borough of Taumarunui.

  2. On and from the date aforesaid the areas described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the Borough of Taumarunui and included in the County of Taumarunui.

  3. The alteration of boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREAS EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF TAUMARUNUI AND INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF TAUMARUNUI

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District in the County of Taumarunui containing 1,040 acres approximately commencing at a point due north of the north-western corner of Section 60, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District; thence proceeding south-easterly generally along a right line to and along the eastern side of a public road forming the western boundaries of Sections 60 and 61 of the said Block XIII, along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced across Taringamotu Road, to and along its eastern side to and up the middle of a stream flowing through Sections 14 and 59 of the said Block XIII, to and along the south-western boundary and the north-eastern side of the public road forming another part of the south-western boundary of Section 18 of the said Block XIII, to and up the middle of the Mangakahikatoa Stream, to and along the south-western boundary of Section 57 of the said Block XIII, and its production across Lairdvale Road, and southerly generally along its south-eastern side to and along the south-western boundaries generally of Section 23 of the said Block XIII, to its southern corner; thence westerly generally along the northern boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui as described in Gazette 1910, page 3231, to the junction of the southern side of the Rangoroa Stream with the left bank of the Ongarue River, and thence along a right line to a point in the middle of the aforesaid river in line with the north-western boundaries of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 2, and Ohura South N 2E 3c Blocks; thence northerly generally up the middle of the Ongarue River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Ohura South 2B Block; thence along a right line to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of that block to its south-eastern corner; thence along a right line across Golf Road to the opposite road angle and along that part of the western boundary of Section 15, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, bearing 58° 17', distant 211·5 links, to an angle; thence northerly along a right line parallel to the eastern side of Golf Road aforesaid (bearing 11° 27') to and up the middle of the Taringamotu River to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the Taranaki and South Auckland Land Districts containing 320 acres approximately bounded by a line commencing at Ponga Trig. Station (Plan S.O. 3727) in Block II, Piopiotea West Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly by a right line to a point on the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 3 Block, distant 20 chains from the Te Kuiti - National Park State Highway No. 27; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 3 Block, to a point distant 10 chains from the Te Kuiti - National Park State Highway No. 27; thence by a right line to a point on the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 2 Block, distant 7 chains from the Te Kuiti - National Park State Highway No. 27; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 2 Block, to and across the Te Kuiti - National Park State Highway No. 27 and north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3, Lot 11, B 2, and Ohura South N 2E 3c Blocks; thence north-easterly by a right line in production of the north-western boundaries of the aforesaid blocks to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence easterly by a right line to the junction of the southern side of the Rangaroa Stream with the left bank of the Ongarue River; thence down the left bank of the Ongarue River to its confluence with the Wanganui River; thence to and down the middle of the Wanganui River to a point opposite the position where the Tatu-Taumarunui Main Highway meets the western bank of the Wanganui River; thence westerly by a right line to the south-western side of the Tatu-Taumarunui Main Highway and north-westerly along the south-western side of the said main highway to and across its junction with an unnamed legal road and north-westerly by the north-eastern side of the said road to the Kururau Road; thence generally easterly by the south-eastern side of the Kururau Road to a point in production of the eastern boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 2d Block; thence northerly to and along the eastern boundary of the aforementioned block, and thence north-westerly by a right line to Ponga Trig. Station, being the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts, containing 460 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Wanganui River, in line with the eastern boundary of Section 5, Tapui Village Settlement, situated in Block I, Hunua Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the southernmost corner of the said Section 5; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of that section and Sections 4 and 3, Tapui Village Settlement, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence southerly across a public road to and along the western boundary of Section 1, Block I aforesaid, to its south-western corner; thence westerly generally along the northern boundaries of Sections 4, 3, and part Reserve E, Sections 35 and 16, the eastern and northern boundaries of Reserve B, and the north-eastern boundary of Section 33, all of Block I aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of River Road, to the north-eastern corner of Section 12, Block I aforesaid; thence northerly along a right line passing through the westernmost corner of Section 5, Block I aforesaid, to a point on the right bank of the Wanganui River; thence easterly generally up the said right bank to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

AREAS EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF TAUMARUNUI AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF TAUMARUNUI

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District in the Borough of Taumarunui containing 507 acres approximately, commencing at the western corner of Section 23, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly and south-easterly along the boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui as described in Gazette 1950, page 3231, to a point on the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block II, Piopiotea Survey District, distant 300 links from the north-western side of a public road; thence westerly generally along a right line crossing K No. 1B, Nos. 2 and 1, and K No. 1A Blocks to the northern corner of M No. 2B Block; thence along another right line crossing K Nos. 2b and 2A and L No. 1B Blocks to the north-eastern corner of L No. 1A 1 Block; thence along the northern boundary of L No. 1A* Block and a right line, being its production across L No. 1A 2, L No. 2B 3B Nos. 1 and 2, and L No. 2B 3A 2 Blocks to and along the eastern and northern boundaries of L No. 2B 2B Block, the eastern and northern boundaries of J No. 2B Block, and a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced across J No. 1A, J No. 1B, J No. 1c, and H Blocks to the eastern boundary of E No. 6 Block; thence northerly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of E No. 6 and of F Nos. 2 and 1 Blocks, all the aforesaid blocks being of Ohura South G No. 4 Block, to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the South Auckland Land District in the Borough of Taumarunui containing 4 acres approximately, commencing at a point on the right bank of the Wanganui River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block II, Piopiotea Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly along the aforesaid right bank to the southern corner of Ohura South G No. 4 N 1 Block; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that block to the north-western boundary of the land to be taken for road, as shown on S.O. Plan 19220; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western boundaries of the parts of Ohura South G Nos. 4 M 1, K 1c, K 1A, K 1B 1 Blocks to be taken for road and shown on S.O. Plan 19220 aforesaid, and the northern side of a public road, to the southern corner of Section 3 of Block II, Piopiotea Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line across the said public road to the point of commencement.

Authorising Bernard James Annabell and Rex Bernard Annabell, both of Makakaho, Waitotara, Farmers, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Bernard James Annabell and Rex Bernard Annabell, both of Makakaho, Waitotara, farmers (hereinafter referred to as the licensees), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from the Waimiti Stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Section 4, Block VI, Moumahaki Survey District, in the County of Patea, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 2 cubic feet per second at any time.
