HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER AND GAS BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £200,000 (known as Load Control Loan 1957) authorised to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing and installing load control equipment, the said Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby makes a special rate of nine twenty-fifths (9/25ths) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Board’s district; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board held on the 11th day of December 1958.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £175,000 (known as Loan No. 23, 1958, £175,000) authorised to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of additional reticulation in the Board’s area, the said Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board hereby makes a special rate of one-eighth (¼d.) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Board’s district; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board held on the 11th day of December 1958.

AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Balmoral Water Supply Loan 1958, £16,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Amuri County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £16,000 (sixteen thousand pounds) authorised to be raised by the Amuri County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing a new intake in the Hurunui River and a new race to increase the supply of water to the Balmoral Water Supply system, the said Amuri County Council hereby makes a special rate of one and one-fifth, three-fifths and one-fifth pence in the pound (£) on the capital value of all rateable lands in class A, B, and C lands respectively in the Balmoral Water Supply District, and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Amuri County Council held on the 7th day of November 1958.

TARANAKI HARBOUR BOARD
RESOLUTION PASSED 11 DECEMBER 1958 MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Loan No. 7, 1958, £135,700
RESOLVED. (The Chairman and Mr B. Hutchen, Movers)—
“That, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and the Taranaki Harbour Board Empowering Amendment Act 1957 and all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Taranaki Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows:
“For the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £135,700 (known as Loan No. 7, 1958) authorised to be raised by the Taranaki Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of completing the purchase of the new dredge and dredging equipment, the said Taranaki Harbour Board hereby makes a special rate of one twenty-fourth of a penny in the pound, one thirty-sixth of a penny in the pound and one seventy-second of a penny in the pound respectively upon the capital value of all rateable property in the respective areas described in the First, Second, and Third Schedules to the Taranaki Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955 and referred to in such Act as Rating Area No. 1, Rating Area No. 2, and Rating Area No. 3 respectively, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

KAIKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION
Altering Number of Councillors of Borough
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it, by section 53 (2) of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Kaikohe Borough Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:
“(1) In lieu of six Councillors (excluding the Mayor) the said Kaikohe Borough Council shall consist of eight Councillors (excluding the Mayor).
“(2) The alteration hereby made in the number of Councillors of the said Council shall take effect at the general election of Councillors to be held in the month of November 1959, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.”
The above resolution was made by the Kaikohe Borough Council by way of special order passed at a special meeting of the said Council convened for that purpose and held on the 20th day of October 1958, and, meanwhile having been publicly notified, was duly confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 24th day of November 1958.

ANNUAL ELECTION OF THREE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
I hereby give public notice of the result of the annual election held on Monday, the 1st day of December 1958, to fill the three vacancies on the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College.
One member to be elected by such of the members of the House of Representatives as for the time being represent electoral districts wholly or partly within the Provincial District of Canterbury.
I hereby declare Arthur John Smith, being the only nomination received, to be duly elected to the Board of Governors, to hold office for a period of three years commencing on the 1st day of January 1959.
One member to be elected by the graduates of the University of New Zealand whose names are on the books of the college and the holders of diplomas granted by the college.
I hereby declare William Cunningham Stafford, being the only nomination received, to be duly elected to the Board of Governors, to hold office for a period of three years commencing on the 1st day of January 1959.
One member to be elected by the teaching staff of the college.

Total number of valid votes ....... 22
