Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956
Pursuant to clause (2) of regulation 41 and regulation 63 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulations red reflectors of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Kaipara Development Scheme)
Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 6 November 1936 and published in the Gazette, 12 November 1936, Volume III, page 2198.

Land Surveyors’ Examination, February 1959—Australia and New Zealand
It is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyors, commencing at 9 a.m. on Monday, 9 February 1959, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Monday, 12 January 1959, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates presenting themselves for examination in any written subject or subjects may present themselves for examination at any Chief Surveyor’s Office, or at Rotorua, Whangarei, or Hamilton.
Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the examination must sit in Wellington. Plans for this portion of the examination, the certificate and other evidence required by regulation No. 31 of the Survey Examination Regulations 1953, must be forwarded not later than 2 March 1959.
The fees for examination are as follows:
