Boundaries of Borough of Pukekohe, County of Franklin and
Pukekohe West Riding of County of Franklin Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set
out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of
Pukekohe, the County of Franklin, and the Pukekohe West
Riding of the County of Franklin, the previous boundaries
having been altered by Order in Council made on 25
February 1958 and published in Gazette, 27 February 1958,
No. 14, page 248.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF PUKEKOHE

All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of part
Allotment 297, Suburban Section 2, Parish of Pukekohe in
Block XI, Drury Survey District, and proceeding easterly
along a right line to and along the southern boundary of
Allotment 3, Parish of Pukekohe to the production of a
line parallel to and distant 1000 links eastward of the eastern
side of Valley Road; thence southerly along the aforesaid
line and its production across Lot 3, D.P. 28052, part Allot-
ment 13, Allotment 14, parts Allotment 12, Belgium Road,
part Lot 2, Deeds Plan 373, and the Pukekohe-Bombay
Main Highway No. 403 (East Street) to its southern side;
then again southerly along a right line crossing parts
Allotment 12, parts Allotment 16, and part Lot 2, D.P. 37601,
to and along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 24, all
the aforesaid allotments being of the Parish of Pukekohe, to
the north-western boundary of Lot 6, Deeds Plan 70; thence
south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary
of that lot and Lot 7 of the said Deeds Plan 70, a right line
across Station Road and the North Island Main Trunk Rail-
way to and along the north-western boundary of part Allot-
ment 9, Deeds Plan P. 37 and a right line across Pukekohe-
Glenmurray (Buckland Road) via Tuakau Main Highway
No. 321 to and along the north-western and western bound-
aries of Lot 1, D.P. 13540 in Block XV, Drury Survey District,
the generally northern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 8552,
and the western end of that northern boundary produced
across Quarry Road to and along its western side, the
generally northern boundaries of Lot 5, D.P. 10499, and the
north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P.
10825, to and along the north-eastern side of Pukekohe-
Tuakau Road to a line parallel to and distant 1000 links south
of the southern side of Woodlands Road; thence again westerly
generally along that line and its production across Upper Queen
Street and Allotment 265 to the western boundary of that
allotment; thence southerly along that western boundary and
its production across Allotments 275 and 283 to and north-
westerly generally along the northern boundary of Allotment
284, all the aforesaid allotments being of Suburban Section
2, Parish of Pukekohe, and along a right line across Anzac
Road to and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 3
and 1, D.P. 35757, the generally eastern boundary of Lot 8,
D.P. 8354, and the production of the northern end of that
boundary across a public road to the south-eastern boundary
of Allotment 235; thence along the north-western side of that
road and the south-western side of Calcutta Road to a point
in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 264;
then northerly generally along a right line across that road
to and along the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries
of Allotment 264 and the generally eastern boundaries of
Allotment 259 to and along the south-eastern side of
Blakes Road to the northernmost corner of Allotment 245;
then along a right line across Kitchener Road West to the
angle in the southern boundary of Allotment 61, D.P. 1408;
then along the north-eastern side of Kitchener Road West
to and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries
of Allotment 65, the north-eastern boundary of Allotment
66 and its production across the Drury-Kohekohe Main
Highway No. 873 (Puni Road), along the north-western side
of that highway to and along the north-eastern boundaries
of Allotment 68, the north-eastern boundary of Allotment
69 and its production across McNally Road, along the north-
western side of that road to and along the north-eastern
boundary of Allotment 76 and that last-mentioned boundary
produced across Victoria Street West, along the north-western
side of that street to and along the north-eastern boundary
of Allotment 93, a right line across Belmont Road to and
along the north-eastern side of a public road forming the
south-western boundaries of Allotments 96, 95, 94, and
109, all the aforesaid allotments being of Suburban Section 2,
Parish of Pukekohe, and along a right line across Birdwood
Road to the southernmost corner of Allotment 78, Parish of
Pukekohe; then north-easterly along the north-western side
of Birdwood Road, the eastern side of Helvetia Road to
and along the north-western boundaries of Lots, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and
6, D.P. 41383, to the northernmost corner of Lot 6 aforesaid;
then northerly along a right line parallel to the eastern
side of Helvetia Road to and along the southern boundaries
of Allotments 139 and 132, a right line across Beattys Road
to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of Allot-
ment 126, the end of Keith Road, the eastern boundaries of
part Allotment 124, the southern boundary of Allotment 121,
the end of Springs Road, the southern boundaries of

Allotments 116 and 115, all the aforesaid allotments being of
Suburban Section 2, Parish of Pukekohe, and a right line
across the Drury-Kohekohe Main Highway No. 873 (Paerata
Road) to and along the southern boundary of part Allotment
297 aforesaid, to its south-eastern corner, the point of
commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF FRANKLIN

All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the South Head of the Manukau
Harbour in Block XIII, Titirangi Survey District, and proceed-
ing easterly generally along the line of mean highwater (spring
tide) of that harbour and the southern shores of Pahurehure
Inlet to and along the western, southern, and eastern bound-
aries of the Borough of Papakura as described in Gazette,
1938, page 470, to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 16,
Suburban Section 1, Parish of Opaheke in Block XV, Otahuhu
Survey District; thence along a right line across Dominion
Road to and along the southern boundaries of Allotment
28, Parish of Hunua, and subdivisions of Allotments 29 and
30 to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments
146, 147, 148, 149, 151, 150, and 173, Parish of Opaheke, to
a point in line with the middle of that part of the public road
which forms the north-western boundary of Allotment 168,
Parish of Hunua in Block I, Opaheke Survey District; thence
easterly along the middle of the aforesaid public road to a
point in line with the south-western boundary of Allotment
S. 170; thence along a right line to and along that boundary
and northerly along the right bank of Hays Creek to the
western side of a road reserve on S.O. 141132; thence along
a right line to a point in the middle of the public road forming
the western boundary of Allotment S.W. 172 in line with the
southern boundary of the said reserve; thence along the
middle of the public road forming the south-western bound-
aries of Allotments S.W. 172 and S. 172, the southern and
eastern boundaries of Allotment S.E. 172 and the generally
south-eastern boundaries of Allotments M. 172 and N. 172
and the subdivisions of Allotments 173 and 174 to a point
in Block XII, Wairoa Survey District in line with the northern
boundary of Allotment 112; thence along a right line to and
along that northern boundary and the northern boundary of
Allotment 112A, the aforesaid Allotments all being of the
Parish of Hunua, and that last-mentioned boundary produced
to the middle of the Wairoa River; thence up the middle of
that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of
Allotment 86, Parish of Otau and along a right line to and
along the southern and eastern boundaries of Allotment 85 to and
along the southern and eastern boundaries of Allotment 88
to a point in line with the southern boundary of Allotment
96; thence along a right line across Moumoukai Road to and
along the southern and south-eastern boundaries of the said
Allotment 96, the southern boundaries of the subdivisions of
Allotment 95 and the southern boundary of Allotment 94,
the said allotments all being of the Parish of Otau aforesaid,
to the western boundary of Wharekawa 4c 1 Block; thence
again easterly generally along the aforesaid western boundary
and the western and southern boundaries of Wharekawa
4A 2, the southern boundary of Wharekawa 4c 1 aforesaid, and
the southern boundaries of Wharekawa 4c 2C, 4c 2B 1, 4c 2B 2,
and parts 4B 3E 3 to and down the middle of the Puwhenua
Stream to the sea coast; thence southerly along the sea coast
to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 82, Parish of Koheroa
in Block VI, Wharekawa Survey District; thence generally
westerly along the northern and western boundaries of that
allotment crossing and recrossing the Miranda - New Brighton
Coast Road, to a point in line with the middle of Allotment
231 (formerly part of a public road); thence along the middle
of a public road, to and along the middle of the said Allot-
ment 231 and that line produced to and along the middle of
Miranda Boundary Road and the production of the middle
line of that part which forms the northern boundary of Lot
6, D.P. 33494 to and along the eastern, southern, and western
boundaries of Allotment 213 being a series of right lines
through Lot 1, D.P. 1466, and Lot 3, D.P. 33494 to and
along the middle of a public road, to and along the middle
of a strip of land being that part of Wharekawa 1 Block
between Lot 15, D.P. 31704, Lots 3 and 1, D.P. 27867, and
Lot 13, D.P. 31704, to and along the middle of the public
road which intersects Lots 23, 22, and 21, D.P. 7211 and forms
the northern boundaries of Lots 4 and 3, D.P. 33468, and
Allotments 157 and 158, along the middle of the Pokeno-
Miranda Road to and along right lines passing through
Section 2, Block XVI, Opaheke Survey District (formerly
closed road and now parts Lot 11 on D.Ps. 7211 and 16643);
to and again along the middle of another part of the Pokeno-
Miranda Road to the middle of the Mangatangi Stream;
then generally south-westerly down the middle of that
stream, the middle of the Maramarua River and the middle
of the Whangamarino River to a right line between the
south-western corner of Allotment 17, all the aforesaid
allotments being of the Parish of Koheroa, and a point on
the left bank of the Waikato River in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Allotment 93, Parish of Onewhero;
then westerly along that right line to and along the afore-
said left bank of the Waikato River, part of which is the
north-eastern boundary of Allotment 38, Parish of Koheroa
(Tuoro Island) to the sea coast; thence generally northerly
along the sea coast to the point of commencement, excluding
therefrom the Boroughs of Tuakau and Waiuku as described
in Gazette, 1956, page 591, and the Borough of Pukekohe
as hereinbefore described.
