SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2A

AUCKLAND-MAUNGATUROTO (Newton Gully Fanshawe Street section): All that public highway in the City of Auckland commencing at the point in Pitt Street at its junction with Karangahape Road and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction along Pitt Street, Wellington Street, Union Street, Victoria Street West, and Beaumont Street, and terminating at its junction with Fanshawe Street at the commencement of the Auckland Harbour Bridge approach, being a distance of 1 mile 7 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 155907 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway: Designating Main Highway to be State Highway


PURSUANT to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The public highway described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. The main highway described in the Schedule hereto is hereby designated State highway and shall form part of the Auckland-Helensville State Highway.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.


SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2A

AUCKLAND-HELENSVILLE: All that public highway in the City of Auckland commencing at a point in Karangahape Road at its junction with Symonds Street, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly and south-westerly direction along Karangahape Road, Ponsonby Road, Williamson Avenue, and the Great North Road, and terminating at its junction with the Auckland-Kumeu motorway, being a distance of 3 miles 48 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 155907 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

AUCKLAND-HAMILTON: All those streets or portions of streets in the City of Hamilton commencing at the city boundary at Varndon Road and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Great South Road and Victoria Street and terminating at a point opposite Garden Place, being a distance of 2 miles 32 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 156090 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured violet.

HAMILTON - TE KUITI: All those streets or portions of streets in the City of Hamilton commencing at the junction of Hood Street and Victoria Street and proceeding thence generally in a westerly and southerly direction via Hood, Anglesea, Thackerey, Pembroke Streets, and Ohaupo Road, and terminating at the Hamilton City boundary 3 chains south of Collins Road, being a distance of 2 miles 16 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 156090 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Dated at Wellington this 2nd day of September 1958.
