Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in County of Geraldine
(Notice No. Ag. 6631)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Acting Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Geraldine County Council on the 6th day of October 1958.


SPECIAL ORDER

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and of all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Council of the County of Geraldine doth hereby resolve by way of special order: That the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto are noxious weeds within the County of Geraldine.


SCHEDULE

Heath (Erica lusitanica).

Viper’s Bugloss (Echium vulgare).

Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).

Authorised Insurers Under Part Three of the Workers’ Compensation Act 1956

PURSUANT to section 101 of the Workers’ Compensation Act 1956, I hereby notify that, in addition to the State Fire Insurance General Manager constituted under the State Fire Insurance Act 1908 and various insurance companies named in previous notices published in the Gazette, the following insurance company, within the meaning of the said Act, is an authorised insurer under Part 3 of the Workers’ Compensation Act 1956 as on and from the 1st day of April 1958.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications Under the Licensed Industries Regulations

PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Licensed Industries Regulations 1957, the Licensed Industries Committee has made the following decisions in respect of applications for licences.

Applicant and Location: Morris Lionel Reid Win, 28 Kotuku Street, Porirua.

Nature of Application: For a licence to manufacture paua (Haliotis iris) shell for sale.

Decision: Granted.

Date: 12 September 1958.

Applicant: Souvenirs (N.Z.) Ltd., Commerce Road, Birkenhead, Auckland.

Nature of Application: For a transfer of the applicant’s licence to manufacture paua (Haliotis iris) shell for sale to W. H. Kettle, Avonleigh Road, Titirangi, Auckland.

Decision: Granted.

Branch of Friendly Society Registered

PURSUANT to section 19 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, the Rongo Mau Lodge No. 166, with registered office at Auckland, is registered as a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand Friendly Society, under the Friendly Societies Act 1909.

Revoking Designation of State Highway, Revoking Declaration of Main Highway, Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway, and Designating Main Highway to be State Highway

PURSUANT to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The portions of main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be designated State highway.

  2. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.

(2) The Order in Council made on 17 July 1940* declaring (inter alia) the portions of highway described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequently amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said portions of highway.

  1. The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. The main highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby designated State highway and shall form part of the Dargaville-Maungaturoto State Highway.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.


FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 1

DARGAVILLE-MAUNGATUROTO: All that portion of public highway in the Otamatea County commencing at a point opposite the north-western corner of part Allotment N.W. 31, Parish of Matakohc, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly, westerly, and northerly direction and terminating at a point opposite the northernmost corner of part Allotment 25, Parish of Matakohc, being a distance of 1 mile 52 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157282 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue. Also all that portion of public highway in the Otamatea County commencing at a point opposite the south-eastern corner of part Allotment 257c, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly and south-westerly direction and terminating at a point opposite the southernmost corner of Lot 2 on D.P. 26516, being a distance of 32 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157282 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.


SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 1

DARGAVILLE-MAUNGATUROTO: All that portion of public highway in the Otamatea County commencing at a point opposite the north-eastern corner of part Allotment N.E. 22, Parish of Matakohc, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction and terminating at a point opposite the south-western corner of Lot 1, on D.P. 37519, being a distance of 1 mile 75 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157282 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Also all that portion of public highway in the Otamatea County commencing at a point opposite the south-eastern corner of part Allotment 257c, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating at a point opposite the north-western corner of the aforesaid part Allotment 257c, being a distance of 23 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157282 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.
