Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Revoking Declaration of a Main Highway and Declaring a Public Highway to be a Main Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be a main highway.

(2) The Order in Council* made on 5 July 1928, declaring the public highway described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway, is hereby consequentially revoked.

2. The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

3. This notice shall come into force the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 5

ALL that public highway in the County of Hawke’s Bay declared as the Mangateretere - Te Awanga Main Highway, as described in the Order in Council published in the Gazette, No. 54/1928, page 2162.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 5

MANGATERETERE - TE AWANGA: All that public highway in the County of Hawke’s Bay commencing at its junction with the Napier - Palmerston North State Highway at a point opposite the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6629, Block II, Clive Survey District, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction to the northern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6553, Block II, Clive Survey District; thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Mill Road, to and passing through Matahiwi No. 1B and Hikutoto South No. 1A Blocks, Block II, Clive Survey District, Lot 1, D.P. 6994, Block III, Clive Survey District, and thence via Haumoana Road, Parkhill Road, and Clifton Road terminating at the beach at Te Awanga near the north-western corner of Block 2A, Kidnapper Crown Grant District, Block II, Kidnapper Survey District; being a distance of 6 miles 64 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 155235 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

ALL that public highway in the County of Waitotara commencing at the western boundary of the City of Wanganui opposite the north-western corner of Lot 7, Section 13, Block 5, Westmere Survey District, D.P. 6429, and thence proceeding generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Rapanui Main Highway near Westmere Lake, opposite the north-western corner of Section 87, Block 2, Westmere Survey District, being a distance of 3 miles 46 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 154333 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

National Park - Wanganui

ALL that public highway in the Counties of Waimarino and Wanganui commencing at the middle of the Manganui-a-te-Ao River near the north-western corner of part Section 2, Block VIII, Manganui Survey District, being the northern boundary of the Waimarino County, thence proceeding generally in a southerly direction to the northern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi, opposite the south-east corner of Section 8, Block 6, Makotuku Survey District, D.P. 3580, and then from the southern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi, opposite the north-east corner of Section 23, Block 6, Makotuku Survey District, and proceeding generally in a southerly direction to a point opposite the centre line of Paul’s Road near the western corner of Lot 1, Section 93, Block 2, Ikitara Survey District, D.P. 9876, being a distance of 65 miles 9 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 154332 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that public highway in the Borough of Raetihi commencing at a point opposite the south-east corner of Section 8, Block 6, Makotuku Survey District, D.P. 3580, and thence proceeding generally in a southerly direction to the southern boundary of the said Borough at a point opposite the north-east corner of Section 23, Block 6, Makotuku Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 30 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 154332 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
