Boundaries of Borough of Morrinsville, County of Piako, and Morrinsville and Kiwitahi Ridings of County of Piako Defined


PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Morrinsville, the County of Piako, and the Morrinsville and Kiwitahi Ridings of the County of Piako, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on 22 January 1958, and published in Gazette, 23 January 1958, No. 6, page 71.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF MORRINSVILLE

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing in Block VI, Maungakawa Survey District, at the southernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 14696, and proceeding north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that lot and its production to the middle of the Tahuna-Waharoa via Morrinsville Main Highway; then north-westerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 524; then easterly generally along a right line to and along that boundary, the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that lot to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 24498, to the easternmost corner of part Lot 5, D.P. 4128; then along a right line across Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 24498, to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 23950; then easterly generally along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 24498, to and along the generally south-western boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 7445, and that boundary produced to the middle of Coronation Road; then along the middle of that road, the middle of Seales Road, to and along the middle of the Hamilton-Paeroa State Highway to the middle of the Piako River; then south-westerly generally up the middle of the Piako River and the Waitakaruru Stream to the north-eastern side of Avenue Road; then north-westerly generally along that north-eastern side crossing the intervening Auckland-Thames Railway and the Hamilton-Paeroa State Highway to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 8, D.P. 16287, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 9, D.P. 16287, and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 16287, to the southern side of Snell’s Road; then along a right line across that road to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 7, D.P. 2465, to the point of commencement.

All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 1s, Tainui Settlement, Block IV, Hapuakohe Survey District, and proceeding easterly generally along the north-eastern boundary of that section to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block XVI, Piako Survey District, and that boundary produced to the middle of the Manga-whara Road; then southerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 6, Block IV, Hapuakohe Survey District; then again easterly along a right line to and along that boundary, the generally western and southern boundaries of Section 5, Block IV aforesaid, the northern boundary of Section 38, Block V, Waitoa Survey District, to its northernmost corner, along a right line to and along the southern boundaries of Sections 13, 14, and 12, Block I, Waitoa Survey District, along a right line across Old Hill Road to and along the middle line of the Maukoro Landing Road and along its production to the middle of the Piako River; then down the middle of that river to the northern boundary of Block II, Waitoa Survey District; then along that boundary, and the northern boundary of Block III, Waitoa Survey District, and its production across Section 1, Block III, aforesaid, to and along the eastern boundary of that section to the southernmost corner of Awaiiti 1B 2B 3; then along that southern boundary to and along the northern boundary of Block III, Waitoa Survey District, and its production across Section 16, Block XV, Waihou Survey District, closed road, Awaiiti 1B 2B 1B 1, the Tirohia-Awaiiti Road, Section 1, Block IV, Waitoa Survey District, and a river bank reserve to the middle of the Waihou River; then southerly up the middle of that river to and along the generally western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the Borough of Te Aroha as described in Gazette 1917, page 1868, to a point due west of Trig.
