Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.
SCHEDULE
ALL those pieces of road in the Canterbury Land District, Canterbury R.D., situated in Block IV, Ellesmere Survey District, described as follows:
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
0 1 19Β·7 Rural Section 23460, and Section 1 of Reserve 680.
0 3 12 Reserve 1102, and Section 2 of Reserve 680.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 157118 (S.O. 9016) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring the Beachgrove Farm Settlement Road in the Ashburton County to be County Road

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county road.
SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of road in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton County, situated in Blocks VII and X, Rakaia Survey District, commencing at its junction with Dobsons Ferry Road, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction, adjoining Rural Sections 38478, 38479, and 38480 (Beachgrove Farm Settlement), and terminating at a point on the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 38480, 3707 links south-east of the northernmost corner of that Rural Section, being a distance of 37 chains, more or less.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 157125 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand

George Ernest F. Wood, Esquire, of Wellington;
James Stuart McAlpine, Esquire, of Auckland; and
Arthur John Ingram, Esquire, of Waharoa,
to be members of the Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, to hold office during pleasure in accordance with the provisions of section 7 of the said Act.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Stanley Thomas Pace Robinson, of Murchison, farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream) situated in Section 76, Block XI, Matiri Survey District, in the County of Murchison, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding one cubic foot per second at any one time and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Section 76, Block XI, Matiri Survey District, indicated on the plan marked S.H.D. 487 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 487.
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a pipeline leading to the powerhouse hereinafter described, giving a static head of approximately 70 ft.
(b) Powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 76 aforesaid.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the said stream.
(d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse in a south-easterly direction across a state highway to a homestead situated in Section 66, all being situated in Block XI, Matiri Survey District, the said lines and buildings being more particularly shown on the said plan S.H.D. 487.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1979 or until electrical energy is available from an electric power board or other public source of supply whichever is the earlier.
RENTAL
- For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence is 3 kilowatts.
NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
- Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the licensee any right to water.
