No. 1728 to the south-western side of Beach Road; thence
south-easterly along the said south-western side of Beach
Road to the eastern corner of Lot 40 on Deposited Plan No.
1703; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary
of the said Lot 40 to the southern corner of that lot; thence
south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1 on
Deposited Plan 1728 to the north-western side of Ames Street;
thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the said
north-western side of Ames Street to the southernmost corner
of Lot 17 on the aforementioned Deposited Plan No. 8581;
thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of
Lots 17 and 18 on the said Deposited Plan No. 8581 to the
south-western corner of the said Lot 18, being the point of
commencement; and that such special rate be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable
yearly on the 12th day of September in each and every year
during the currency of the loan; being a period of three
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

HIKURANGI TOWN COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Hikurangi Town
Council, at its meeting held on the 2nd day of September
1958, has resolved to prepare for the Town District of
Hikurangi a district scheme as required by the provisions of
the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.
Every person and every local authority in the district is
hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its
opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the
proposed scheme.
Proposals marked “Hikurangi District Scheme” should be
addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town
Clerk's office on or before 20 November 1958.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and
the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Masterton Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to execute a certain public work, namely, the widening of
Bannister Street in the Borough of Masterton; and for
the purposes of such public work the lands described in
the Schedule hercto are required to be taken; and notice
is herby further given that a plan of the lands so re-
quired to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in Chapel Street, Mas-
terton, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons
during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such lands who have any well grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing,
and send the same within 40 days from the first publication
of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers,
Chapel Street, Masterton.

APPROXIMATE area of parcels of land required to be taken:
5·01 perches.
Being portion of part of Section 6, M.S.F.S., being part of
Lot 1 on D.P. No. 6982; coloured blue.
Situated in the Borough of Masterton.

PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL
SECURITY RATE
High Pressure Water Supply Loan 1958, £236,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Paparua
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £236,000, to be known as the High Pres-
sure Water Supply Loan 1958, authorised to be raised by the
Paparua County Council under the above-mentioned Act for
the purpose of providing a high pressure water supply system
for the urban districts of Upper Riccarton, Sockburn, Hornby,
and Islington, including the purchase from Government of
the existing water supply system in the Hornby new housing
block, the said Paparua County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of '6264 pence in the pound (£) on the
rateable value (on the basis of capital value) on all rateable
properties comprised within the boundaries of the Sockburn
County Town, the Hornby County Town, and the Islington
Township; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
the currency of the said loan, being a period of 35 years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.”

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the
day preceding publication.
Subscriptions—The subscription is at the rate of £5 5s. per
calendar year, including postage, payable in advance.
Single copies of the Gazette as follows:
For the first 16 pages, 6d., increasing by 6d. for every
subsequent 8 pages or part thereof.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for
the first insertion, and 6d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of
general legislative force are no longer published in the New
Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of
the following arrangements:
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing),
subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and
1939–42 are out of print.)
(3) Separate regulations as issued.
The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating
the purchase of extra copies.
Orders should be placed with the Government Printer,
Publications Branch, Wellington C.1. Separate copies of
regulations may also be purchased from the Printing and
Stationery Department, 130 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, or
from the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.

ment Printer, at Wellington and Christchurch or through
the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.
Free Postage: All publications sold by the Department are
now post free—except that when trade discount is allowed,
