Declaring Parts of Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act
Pursuant to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby declares the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purpose of the said Act, and hereby assigns to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of each such area.
SCHEDULE
KAOKAOROA TRIBAL DISTRICT
Okauiia Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Piakonui Stream on the production north-westerly of the south-western boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 14276,
in Block IV, Cambridge Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 23, D.P. 1297, in Block I, Tapapa Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the generally northern and western sides of Peria and Gunns Roads, to the south-eastern corner of Section 55, Matamata Settlement; thence north-easterly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 31, Matamata Settlement, in Block XIV, Wairere Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Waihou River; thence down the middle of that river to its junction with the Wairere Stream; thence up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XI, Wairere Survey District; thence to and along the eastern boundary of Section 11, aforesaid, to and along the southern and south-eastern boundaries of Maurihoro A Block to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 5156; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of the said Lot 1 and Lots 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15, D.P. 5099, being parts of Whakamarama No. 2 and Lot 22, D.P. 5099 aforesaid, to Trig. Station 909 (Waianuanu) at the easternmost corner of Block XVI, Wairere Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti) at the western corner of Block VI, Opoutihi Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 3A 3 and 3A 2, Okauia Block, across the old Te Aroha Road, to and along the southern boundary of Section 3B, Okauia Block, and its production to the middle of the Waiomou Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Waihou River; thence up the middle of that river to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District, and the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 25216, in Block V, Tapapa Survey District; thence north-westerly along the last-mentioned right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 25216 aforesaid, and along the south-western boundaries of the said Lot 2, Lot 3, D.P. 25216, part Lot 2, D.P. 5116, Lot 4, D.P. 14276, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the point of commencement.
Rengarenga-Ukaipo (Te Poi) Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti) at the western corner of Block VI, Opoutihi Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua) at the easternmost corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station O (Hauturu) in Block IV, Tapapa East Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station T 1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District, and a right line in the direction of the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 25216, in Block V, Tapapa Survey District, to its intersection with the middle of the Waihou River; thence down the middle of that river, to and up the middle of the Waiomou Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3B, Old Te Aroha Road, to and along the southern boundaries of Sections 3A 2 and 3A 3, Okauia Block, to the point of commencement.
Manawanui Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station 812 (Mangapouri) in Block III, Patetere North Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station T 1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District, and a right line to Trig. Station O (Hauturu) in Block IV, Tapapa East Survey District; thence easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua) at the easternmost corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 807 (Uraura) in Block VII, Ngautuku Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a right line between Trig. Station 816 (Whakaaratamaiti) in Block VII, Patetere North Survey District, and the south-western corner of Section 4, Block IX, Rotorua Survey District; thence westerly to and along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station 816 aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line to the point of commencement.
Tirau Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Hamilton-Rotorua State Highway on the production northerly of the western boundary of Section 2s, Horahora Settlement, in Block XVI, Cambridge Survey District; thence proceeding easterly generally along the middle of the said highway to its junction with the Waitoa-Taupo Main Highway; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Piare-Kaimai Main Highway at its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District, and the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 25216, in Block V, Tapapa Survey District; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station M aforesaid, and a right line to Trig. Station T 1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 812 (Mangapouri) in Block III, Patetere North Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 816 (Whakaaratamaiti) in Block VII, Patetere North Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 47, Block IV, Maungatautari Survey
