A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

South Auckland Land District—Auckland Conservancy Allotment N. 28, Karioi Parish, situated in Blocks IV and V, Karioi Survey District: Area, 122 acres 3 roods, more or less. Shown on plan No. 27/11 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 17698.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 2nd day of September 1958.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of September 1958 Present: His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 10th day of September 1958 Present: His Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
LICENCE

This order may be cited as the Westland County Council Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1958.

Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the Westland County Council (hereinafter referred to as the licensee) is hereby granted a licence to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of Lake Wahapo (hereinafter referred to as the said lake), situated in the County of Westland, and to take and use therefrom for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 40 cubic ft per second and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the First Schedule hereto.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958 and to all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said lake at the point in Section R. 1017, Block XVI, Okarito Survey District, marked “Race Intake”, indicated on the plan marked S.H.D. 474 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.

The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the works described in the Second Schedule hereto for the purposes of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 474.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (d), (e), and (f) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating capacity at the commencement of this licence is 250 kilowatts.

Nothing in this licence shall of itself be deemed to confer upon the licensee any right to water.

This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1979.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ELECTRIC LINES
- An electric line leading from the powerhouse referred to in the Second Schedule hereto to a point on the boundary of the area of supply described in paragraph 2 of this Schedule, the said line being shown by means of a red line on the plan marked S.H.D. 473 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
2: Electric lines for the supply of electricity within the area of supply described hereunder, the electric lines at present proposed to be erected and used being shown by means of red lines on the said plan S.H.D. 473.
All that area in the Westland County, situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Mt. Oneone, Blocks IV, XII, and XVI, Okarito, Blocks I to III inclusive, and V to XVI inclusive, Whataroa, and Blocks I to III inclusive, Waitangitaona Survey Districts, bounded on the North by the Tasman Sea, on the East generally by R. 993, Part R. 1634, R. 1194, Part R. 1637, and R. 1196, on the South part by Part R. 1681, Part R. 1195, and on the West generally by Part R. 1681, Part R. 1639, R. 1224, Part R. 1636, and R. 1989, and by the Tasman Sea.
As the said area is more particularly delineated on the said plan S.H.D. 473 and thereon coloured yellow.
SECOND SCHEDULE
HYDRO-ELECTRIC GENERATING WORKS
(a) Headworks consisting of a weir and intake situated in the said lake on Section R. 1017, Block XVI, Okarito Survey District, giving a static head of approximately 109 ft;
(b) A water race and pipe line leading from the intake aforesaid in a north-westerly direction across R. 1017 and part R. 1636 to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to;
(c) Water turbine, generator, and all necessary hydraulic and electrical equipment housed in a powerhouse situated approximately five chains below the confluence of the Okarito and Wahapo Rivers on part R. 1636, in Block XVI, Okarito Survey District;
(d) Tail race leading from the powerhouse aforesaid into the Okarito River.
