HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Rotorua County Council stopping the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto.

ALL those pieces of road in the South Auckland Land District, Auckland R.D., described as follows:

PURSUANT to section 131 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council dated the 17th day of November 1922, and published in Gazette, 23 November 1922, Volume III, page 3080, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at New Plymouth as No. 631, exempting, inter alia, the western side of portion of Victoria Road (now known as Carrington Street) in the Borough of New Plymouth from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act 1908, subject to a condition as to the building line, by cancelling the condition as to the building line imposed by the said Order in Council, in so far as it affects Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 4269, Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 4638 and Lot 3, D.P. 6773, Taranaki Land Registry.

Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to the Navy Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments and promotions in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Lieutenant-Commander S. W. Hicks, V.R.D., short-service commission to be extended one year seven months from 1 September 1958.

Lieutenant-Commander J. E. Washbourn, A.D.C., granted acting rank of Commander while holding present appointment, to date 5 August 1958.

Lieutenant-Commander A. V. Kempthorne, granted acting rank of Commander, while holding present appointment, to date 10 March 1958.

Lieutenant-Commander M. A. Lawson, promoted to rank of Commander, to date 30 June 1958.

Lieutenant I. S. Munro, promoted to rank of Lieutenant-Commander, to date 16 June 1958.

Lieutenant T. F. S. Vane, granted acting rank of Lieutenant-Commander, while holding present appointment, to date 20 August 1958.

Acting Sub-Lieutenant G. J. Bosson is confirmed in rank with seniority of 1 September 1956.
