Additional Land at Mosgiel Taken for the Purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway.

Authorising the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the Franklin Electric Power Board to Invest Moneys in Certain Local Body Securities

At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of September 1958

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Amendment Act 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the investment by the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the Franklin Electric Power Board in debentures of the Franklin County Council, bearing interest at 5 per cent and maturing on the 1st day of August 1965, of the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500), the said sum having been received in terms of section 22 of the said Act by the said Commissioners.

Boundaries of County of Waikato and County of Raglan Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of September 1958
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of October 1958, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Waikato and included in the County of Raglan.
  2. The alteration of boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.
    SCHEDULE
    AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF WAIKATO AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF RAGLAN
    ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District in Blocks VII and XI, Rangiriri Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waikato River adjacent to the northernmost corner of Allotment 10, Whangape Parish (Taipouri Island), and proceeding generally southerly up the middle of the aforesaid river to and up the middle of the channel between Allotments 10 and 11, Whangape Parish, to and again up the middle of the Waikato River to a point adjacent to the southernmost corner of Allotment 10 aforesaid; thence generally northerly along a line to and along the western boundary of the aforesaid Allotment 10 and along another line to the point of commencement.

    Pursuant to section 5 of the Historic Places Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoints the under-mentioned persons to be members of the National Historic Places Trust:
    Nominated by the Senate of the University of New Zealand: John Cawte Beaglehole, C.M.G., M.A., PH.D., of Wellington, on and from the 1st day of April 1958.
    To represent the historical, founders', pioneers', and early settlers' associations and societies in New Zealand: Kenneth Hector Melvin, M.A., DIP.ED., DIP.SOC.SCI., of Clive, in place of Ruth Mary Allan, M.A., of Wellington, deceased.

    Constitution of Board of Managers of Otahuhu College

    ORDER IN COUNCIL
    At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of August 1958
    Present:
    His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
    Pursuant to the Education Act 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order and regulations.
    ORDER
  3. The constitution of the Board of Managers of Otahuhu College, specified in the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction,* as varied by Order in Council made on the 7th day of March 1956†, is hereby further varied so that the Board shall consist of:
    (a) Two managers appointed by the Governor-General;
    (b) One manager appointed by the Auckland Education Board;
    (c) Three managers elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, of which managers at least one shall be a woman;
    (d) One manager appointed by the Otara Intermediate School Committee;
    (e) One manager appointed by the Papatoetoe Intermediate School Committee;
    (f) One manager elected by the members of the School Committees of the Otahuhu Public School and the Fairburn Road Public School;
    (g) One manager elected by the members of the School Committees of the Mangere East Public School, the Mangere Central Public School, the Mangere Bridge Public School, and the Mangere West Public School;
    (h) One manager, who shall be a parent of a pupil attending the school, co-opted by the Board of Managers itself.
  4. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the lists of schools to which paragraphs (f) and (g) of clause 1 of this order respectively apply.
  5. The Managers of Otahuhu College who were in office immediately before the commencement of this order shall continue in office as if they had been appointed or elected under this order, and as if this order had been in force at the time of their appointment or election, and (in the case of the manager elected by the members of the School Committees of the Papatoetoe Public School, the Papatoetoe West Public School, and the Puhinui Public School) as if the manager had been appointed by the Papatoetoe Intermediate School Committee.
  6. The order and regulations made on the 7th day of March 1956† relating to the constitution of the Board of Managers of Otahuhu College are hereby revoked.
    REGULATIONS
  7. These regulations may be cited as the Otahuhu College Regulations 1958.
  8. The provisions of Part III of the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction shall, with the necessary modifications, apply in the election and appointment of managers of the Otahuhu College.
