Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Maketu Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 20 November 1941 and published in the Gazette, 27 November 1941, Volume III, page 3776.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in County of Southland (Notice No. Ag 6595)

Pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Southland County Council on the 11th day of July 1958.

SPECIAL ORDER

Pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following plants are hereby declared to be noxious weeds within all parts of the County of Southland other than Town Districts therein:

  • Viper's bugloss (Echium vulgare).
  • Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).

Notice of Intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to Alter the Name of the Borough of Tawa Flat

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to alter the name of the Borough of Tawa Flat to the Borough of Tawa.

Pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, any person objecting to such proposed alteration may at any time within the period of three months from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette give to the Secretary of the Board, care of the Department of Lands and Survey, P.O. Box 8003, Government Buildings, Wellington, notice in writing of his objection, setting out the grounds of the objection. If no objection is received by the Board within the aforesaid period of three months, the Board's decision regarding the proposed alteration will be final.

Cancellation of a Teacher's Certificate and Registration as a Teacher

Pursuant to section 17 of the Education Amendment Act 1924, the teacher's certificate and registration as a teacher of John Douglas Hallum are cancelled.
