Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring
Portion of Public Highway to be Main Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the
National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the
Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule
    hereto shall cease to be main highway.

(2) The Order in Council* made on 13 December 1938
declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be main highway
is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of
the Second Schedule thereto as related to the said highways.

  1. The portions of public highway described in the Second
    Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highway
    within the meaning and for the purposes of the National
    Roads Act 1953.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B

ALL that public highway declared as the Te Awamutu-
Cambridge main highway, also all that public highway declared
as Cambridge-Roto-o-rangi main highway, as described in
Order in Council dated the 13th day of December 1938.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B

Te Awamutu - Cambridge: All that street or portion of
street in the Borough of Cambridge, commencing at the
junction of Duke Street West and Victoria Street and pro-
ceeding thence by way of Victoria Street and the bridge over
the Waikato River opposite the said Victoria Street, and pro-
ceeding thence by way of Pope Terrace, terminating at the
Town Belt near the south-western corner of Section 91, being
a distance of 1 mile 5 chains, more or less; as the same is
more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 101075 deposited
in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and
thereon coloured green.

Dated at Wellington this 14th day of July 1958.

Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the
National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the
Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The public highway described in the Schedule hereto is
    hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and
    for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953 and shall
    be termed the Cambridge-Roto-o-rangi main highway.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 2B

Cambridge-Roto-o-rangi: All those streets or portions of
streets in the Borough of Cambridge, commencing at the
junction of Pope Terrace with Te Awamutu - Cambridge
main highway and proceeding thence generally in an easterly
direction by way of Pope Terrace and Cook Street; thence in
a southerly direction by way of Shakespeare Street; thence in
an easterly direction by way of Browning Street; thence in a
southerly direction by way of Carlyle Street and terminating
at the southern boundary of the said borough opposite the
south-eastern corner of Section 65, being a distance of 2
miles 8 chains, more or less; as the same is more particu-
larly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101251 deposited in the
office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.

Sale of Unclaimed Property

It is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands of
the Police at Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Wel-
ington, Nelson, Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin,
and Invercargill Stations will, if not claimed before 13
September 1958, be sold thereafter by public auction.

Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained
from the Chief Superintendent, Superintendent, or Chief
Inspector of Police in charge of the District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of
August 1958

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order:

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1959, the area described
    in the First Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the
    County of Wallace and included in the Borough of Riverton.

  2. On and from the date aforesaid the area described in the
    Second Schedule hereto is hereby included in the Borough of
    Riverton.

  3. The alteration of boundaries of the said county and the
    said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have
    been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF WALLACE AND INCLUDED IN
BOROUGH OF RIVERTON

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Wallace County,
containing 2 roods, more or less, being those parts of Lots 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, D.P. 4565, included in Section 4A, Block
II, Jacobs River Hundred.

SECOND SCHEDULE

AREA INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF RIVERTON

ALL that area in the Southland Land District containing 8
acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point
on a public road being the northernmost corner of Section 34,
Block II, Jacobs River Hundred, and proceeding thence
easterly and southerly generally along the northern and eastern
boundaries of the said Section 34, to a point in line with
the south-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block II, aforesaid;
thence south-westerly along a right line being the production
of the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 3, to the
western boundary of the said Section 34; thence northerly
generally along the western boundary of the said Section 34
to the point of commencement. (The last described boundary
being also the boundary of the Borough of Riverton as
described in Gazette 1954, p. 592.)
