Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in County of Taumarunui
(Notice No. Ag. 6591)

Pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Taumarunui County Council on the 16th day of July 1958.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Taumarunui County Council hereby resolves by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto are noxious weeds within the Taumarunui County:

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Bathurst Bur (Xanthium spinosum).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum).
Burdock (Arctium, any species).
Cape Tulip (Homeria collina).
Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Lupin (Lupinus arboreus).
Manchurian Wild Rice (Zizania latifolia).
Milk Thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Montpelier Broom (Cytisus monspessulanus).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Spiderwort (Leycesteria formosa).
Spiny Broom (Calycotome spinosa).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).
Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum).
Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia).
Wild Teasel (Dipsacus silvester).

Pursuant to section 12 of the Meat Export Prices Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Meat Export Prices Committee has prepared the table of minimum prices set out in the Schedule hereto for the classes of meat set out in the said Schedule in respect of meat exported from New Zealand for the year ending 30 September 1959.

Election of Grower Representative on the Potato Board

Pursuant to section 6 of the Potato Growing Industry Act 1950 and under the provisions of the Potato Board Election Regulations 1951, notice is hereby given that the roll of growers in the Northern Ward who are entitled to vote for a grower member on the Potato Board will be open for public inspection during ordinary office hours for a period of seven days from the 20th day of August 1958 at the Head Office of the Board, Wellington, at the offices of the Hawke’s Bay, Rangitikei, and the Manawatu Potato Growers’ Associations, and at the offices of the Department of Agriculture at Palmerston North and Hastings.

Nomination forms may be had on application to any of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Box 2742, Wellington.

Nominations must be in the hands of the Returning Officer by not later than noon on the 3rd day of September 1958.
