BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF WAITAKI

ALL that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts
bounded by a line commencing at the summit of Mt. Hopkins
in the Southern Alps and proceeding southerly along a right
line to the source of the Hopkins River; thence generally
south-westerly down the middle of that river to Lake Ohau;
thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern shores
of that lake to the middle of the Ohau River; thence generally
south-easterly along the middle of the Ohau and Waitaki
Rivers to the sea; thence generally south-westerly along the
high-water of the South Pacific Ocean to the northernmost
corner of Block III, Moeraki Survey District; thence westerly
along the northern boundary of Block III aforesaid to the
western side of a closed road along the summit of Horse
Range; thence generally north-westerly along the south-western
side of that closed road to and across a public road forming
the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block IX, Moeraki
Survey District; thence generally northerly along the western
side of that road to its junction with a road through Section
46, Block XI, Moeraki Survey District; thence north-westerly
along the south-western side of that road and south-westerly
along the south-eastern side of a road through Section 31,
Block XI aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of Block VI,
Moeraki Survey District; thence westerly along the northern
boundary of Block VI to and northerly and westerly along
the eastern and northern boundaries of Block XII, Moeraki
Survey District, to the western boundary of Section 3, Block
XIV, Moeraki Survey District; thence northerly along the
western boundary of Section 3 to and across a public road;
thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern side
of that road to the western boundary of Section 10, Block
XV, Moeraki Survey District; thence north-easterly along the
north-western boundary of Section 10 aforesaid to the eastern-
most corner of Block III, Waihemo Survey District; thence
generally north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries
of Blocks III, V, and VIII, Waihemo Survey District, to the
south-eastern boundary of Run 699; thence generally north-
easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 699 for
4000 links; thence generally north-westerly to and along a
leading ridge through Run 699 to the south-eastern corner of
Section 1, Block IX, Waihemo Survey District; thence gener-
ally north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of
Section 1 aforesaid and the western boundary of Run 699 to
the south-western boundary of Run 572; thence generally
north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Runs
572 and 571 to the northern boundary of Waihemo Survey
District; thence south-westerly along the north-western boun-
dary of Waihemo Survey District to the south-western
boundary of Section 1, Block XV, Kakanui Survey District;
thence generally north-westerly along the western boundary
of Section 1 aforesaid and the south-western boundary of
Run 682 to Kakanui Peak; thence generally north-westerly
along the south-western boundary of Run 681 to the
public road along the summit of the Kakanui
Mountains; thence generally north-westerly along that
road and the western boundary of Run 510 to Dansey
Pass; thence generally north-westerly along the eastern
boundary of Run 576 to Trig. Station Y, Kyeburn Survey
District; thence south-westerly and northerly along the water-
shed through Run 576 to the northern boundary of Run 576;
thence generally south-westerly along north-western boun-
dary of Run 576 to Mt. Kyeburn; thence generally northerly
and westerly along the watershed running across the south-
western corner of Run 574 to the south-eastern boundary of
Run 573; thence generally westerly along the south-eastern and
southern boundaries of Run 573 to Mt. Ida; thence generally
north-westerly along the summit of the Hawkdun Ranges to
the southern boundary of Gala Survey District; thence westerly
along the southern boundaries of Gala and Hawkdun Survey
Districts to Mt. St. Bathans; thence generally northerly along
the western boundaries of Runs 201F, 201E, 201G, and 201B
to its westernmost corner; thence generally south-westerly along
a leading ridge through Old Man Peak to Lindis Pass; thence
generally north-westerly along the summit of the range pass-
ing through Dromedary Hill, Mt. Martha, Mt. Gladwish, and
Mt. Huxley to Mt. Strauchan; thence generally north-easterly
along the summit of the Southern Alps to the point of com-
mencement. Excluding therefrom the Borough of Oamaru
hereinbefore described and the Borough of Hampden as
described in Gazette, 1882, at page 129.

BOUNDARIES OF PAPAKAIO RIDING

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Waitaki County,
bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of
the Waitaki River on the production of the eastern boun-
dary of Block II, Awamoko Survey District, and proceeding
south-easterly down the middle of that river to the sea; thence
south-westerly along the sea coast to the north-eastern boun-
dary of the Borough of Oamaru hereinbefore described;
thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-
eastern and north-western boundaries of that Borough to
Oamaru Creek; thence generally northerly along the left
bank of that creek to the southern boundary of Block I,
Papakaio Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary
to the western boundary of Papakaio Survey District; thence
generally northerly along that boundary to the southern
boundary of Block IV, Awamoko Survey District; thence
westerly along that boundary to the eastern boundary of
Section 5S, Pukenui Settlement; thence along the eastern,
southern, and western boundaries of that section to Section 4s
of the aforesaid settlement; thence north-westerly along the
western boundary of the said Section 4s to a public road;

thence westerly along that road to Section 15A, Plunket
Settlement; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern
and northern boundaries of that section to the eastern
boundary of Block V, Awamoko Survey District; thence
northerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of
Block II, Awamoko Survey District, and its production to the
point of commencement.

Boundaries of Town District of Otautau, County of Wallace,

and Aparima Riding of County of Wallace Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set
out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Town
District of Otautau, the County of Wallace, and the Aparima
Riding of the County of Wallace, the previous boundaries
having been altered by Order in Council made on 5 February
1958, and published in Gazette, 6 February 1958, No. 9,
page 128.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF TOWN DISTRICT OF OTAUTAU

All that area in the Southland Land District containing by
estimation 490 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the northern side of Swale Street
in line with the western side of Frederick Street, and proceed-
ing easterly along the northern side of Swale Street, and its
production to the south-western side of Merrivale Road;
thence north-westerly along the south-western side of the said
Merrivale Road, to a point in line with the northern side of
Leeman Street; thence easterly to and along the northern
side of Leeman Street, to a line running parallel to, and 250
links north-easterly from the north-eastern side of Mary
Street measured at right angles therefrom; thence south-
easterly along the said line and its production to the middle
of the Otautau Stream; thence southerly generally along the
middle of the Otautau Stream to a point in line with the
northern side of a public road forming the southern boundary
of Section 5, Block II, Aparima Hundred; thence westerly to
and along the northern side of the said public road to its
junction with the north-eastern side of Main Road; thence
south-easterly along that side to a point in line with the
north-western boundary of Lot 19, D.P. 120; thence south-
westerly to and along the north-western boundary of the said
Lot 19, to the easternmost corner of Lot 18, D.P. 120; thence
north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and
north-western boundaries of the said Lot 18, to a point in
line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 74, D.P. 120;
thence north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundary
and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the
said Lot 74, to the westernmost corner thereof; thence north-
erly along the eastern boundary of Lot 68, D.P. 120, to the
southern side of Nantwich Street; thence westerly along the
southern side of Nantwich Street to a point in line with the
eastern boundary of Section 10, Block VIII, Town of Otautau;
thence northerly across Nantwich Street, across Section 11,
Block VIII aforesaid, and across Knutsford Street to and
along the eastern boundary of the aforementioned Section 10,
and that boundary produced, across Clitheroe Street and
Section 7, Block VII, Town of Otautau, to and along the
eastern boundaries of Section 9 and part Section 10, and the
last-mentioned boundary produced across Section 15, to and
along the eastern boundary of the other part of Section 10 to
the north-eastern corner thereof; thence north-easterly along
a right line to the junction of the northern side of Russell
Parade with the south-western side of Frederick Street; thence
north-westerly and northerly along the south-western and
western side of Frederick Street to the point of commence-
ment.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF WALLACE

All that area in the Southland and Otago Land Districts
bound by a line commencing at the mouth of the Waima-
tuku Stream; and proceeding north-westerly and south-easterly
along the middle of the Waimatuku Stream to a point in line
with the middle of the new channel through Sections 2A and
1A, Block XIX, New River Hundred, approximately 1,750
links south-east from the westernmost corner of the said
Section 2A; thence to and along the middle of the said new
channel on a bearing of 352Β° 45' to the middle of the said
Waimatuku Stream; thence along the middle of the said
Waimatuku Stream to a point in line with the middle of the
said new channel; thence on a bearing of 23Β° 30' to and
along the middle of the said new channel which follows the
south-eastern boundary of Section 10, Block XIX, aforesaid,
to the middle of the said Waimatuku Stream; thence northerly
generally along the middle of the said Waimatuku Stream
to the middle of the Argyle-Tuatapere Main Highway No.
136; thence easterly along the middle of the said highway to
the middle of Boundary Road; thence northerly generally
along the middle of Boundary Road, the Winton-Otautau
Main Highway No. 244 and a public road forming the
eastern boundary of the Village of Drummond to a point
