BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAWA FLAT, COUNTY OF MAKARA AND OHARIU, BELMONT, AND PORIRUA RIDINGS OF COUNTY OF MAKARA DEFINED.

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Tawa Flat, the County of Makara, and the Ohariu, Belmont, and Porirua Ridings of the County of Makara, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on 23 December 1957, and published in Gazette, 9 January 1958, No. 2, page 14.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAWA FLAT

All that area in Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the easternmost corner of Lot 30, D.P. 18576, being a point on the western side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence south-easterly along a right line across that railway to the northernmost corner of that part of Lot 1, D.P. 7001, shown bordered yellow on S.O. plan 22949, being a point on the western side of the Wellington-Foxton Motorway; thence southerly generally along that side of the motorway to the north-eastern boundary of the land as shown on D.P. 9069; thence south-easterly and southerly along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of that land to the north-eastern side of Collins Avenue; thence south-easterly along that side of Collins Avenue to the westernmost corner of the land marked “Reserve” containing 2 acres and 2 roods, more or less, as shown on D.P. 2129; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that land to the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 14051; All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour, in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 99, Porirua District, Block VIII, Packakariki Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the easternmost corner of that Section; thence generally southwards along the south-eastern boundary of Section 99 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of Section 29, and the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 32, Takapu District the northern boundary of Section 35, Horokiwi Road District, the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Section 348, and the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 344, Hutt District, and thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 34, 33, 39, part 31, 30, 29, and 28, Horokiwi Road District, Block II, Belmont Survey District, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 27, 26, 25, 24, 22, 21, 20, 16, 15, 14, 12, 11, and 9 Horokiwi Road District Block VIII Belmont Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Horokiwi Road District, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 78, Hutt District, Block XIII, Belmont Survey District, the north-eastern boundary of Section 19, Harbour District, Block XII, Belmont Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to mean high-water mark, Port Nicholson; thence in a south-westerly direction along the mean high-water mark aforesaid to its intersection with the northern boundary of the City of Wellington as described in Gazette, 1955, page 695; thence northerly, westerly, and southerly generally along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of the City of Wellington, described as aforesaid to the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait; thence westerly and northerly generally along the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait, and southerly and northerly generally along the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour, to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Tawa Flat hereinbefore described.

BOUNDARIES OF OHARIU RIDING

All that area in the County of Makara bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on D.P. 752 with the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait being a point on the boundary of the County of Makara hereinbefore described; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lot 1 aforesaid, the eastern boundaries of Komangarautawhiri A1, A2, A3 and A4D, Wairere 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and 2E 2, north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Wairere 2E 2 aforesaid, to the eastern corner of Section 38, Ohariu District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 38, 39, and 40, Ohariu District, the south-eastern boundary of the land as shown on D.P. B/271 to the northern corner of the land as shown on D.P. 9126; thence southerly generally along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of that land, along the eastern, northern, and eastern boundaries of Section 119, Ohariu District, to the north-western boundary of the land as shown on the Scheme Plan numbered D. 514, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa Flat hereinbefore described; thence southerly and easterly generally along that boundary to a point on the eastern side of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway, being the southernmost corner of Lot 5, D.P. 12284; thence southerly generally along the eastern side of that State highway to the southernmost corner of Section 8, Paparangi Settlement; being a point on the boundary of the City of Wellington; thence westerly and south-westerly along that boundary, being, the southern boundary of the said Section 8, a right line due north to the western side of Bassett Road, along that side of Bassett Road to and along the southern boundaries of Sections 3 and 2, Block III, Hawtrey Settlement, the western side of Hawtrey Terrace, the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 4, Block III aforesaid, the western boundary of the last-mentioned section, the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid, along the eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block II, Hawtrey Settlement, north-westerly along a right line to the western side of Wingfield Street, southerly along that side of Wingfield Street and its production to the western side of Ohariu Road, along the western side of that road, the north-western side of Section 5, Block I, Hawtrey Settlement, and its production to the middle of Ironside Road, along the middle of that road to a point due east of the north-western corner of Section 4, Block I aforesaid, along a right line to that corner, along the western boundary of Section 4 aforesaid, along the eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 105, Ohariu District, the north-western boundary of Section 96, Ohariu District, to and along the north-eastern side of Old Ohariu Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 93, Ohariu District, to and along that boundary, along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 9, Kaiwharawhara District, along the north-western boundary of that section to its westernmost corner, being a point on the boundary of the City of Wellington aforesaid;
