Constituting the Waihemo Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 6572)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 16th day of July 1958
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 14 of the Rabbits Act 1955 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Waihemo Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIHEMO RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and the County of Waitaki containing 24,000 acres approximately, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of D.P. 4844 being Part Sections 36 and 1448R Block VIII, Otepopo Survey District; thence generally westerly along the northern boundary of Breakneck Road to the road through Section 1 of 47, Block VIII; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that road and along the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block XIII, to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Block XIII, Otepopo Survey District; to the south-eastern corner of Run 11A; thence generally south-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 11A and the south eastern boundaries of Run 464 and part Run 109 to its southernmost corner; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Part Run 109 and Run 700 to the south-eastern boundary of Run 699; thence generally north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 699 for 4000 links; thence generally north-westerly to and along a leading ridge through Run 699 to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block IX, Waihemo Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 699 to its north-western corner; thence generally easterly and south-easterly along the northern and north-eastern boundaries of Run 699, and the northern boundary of Run 700 and generally easterly down the centre of the north branch of the Waianakarua River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of D.P. 4844; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori Reservation for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngati Moroki tribe as a meeting place.

Defining Limits of the Oamaru Harbour Pilotage District
COBHAM, Governor-General
PURSUANT to section 211 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby define the limits of the Oamaru Harbour Pilotage District, within which pilots may act for the purposes of the said Act, to be all the waters comprised within the harbour of Oamaru northward of a line bearing 270°–090° through the South Head light structure within the arc of a circle of 1·5 nautical miles radius the centre of which circle is the South Head light structure.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 14th day of July 1958.

Captain W. A. Morgan, M.B.E., E.D., is transferred to the Supernumerary List on reaching retiring age for rank, and is re-engaged until 1 March 1960. Dated 16 July 1958.

1st Armoured Car Regiment (New Zealand Scottish), RNZAC
Major-General Sir Norman W. McD. Weir, K.B.E., C.B., Retired List, is granted a further extension of his term of appointment as Colonel of the Regiment until 6 July 1959.
Lieutenant S. G. McGregor is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Armoured Car Regiment (New Zealand Scottish), RNZAC, in his present rank and seniority. Dated 15 June 1958.
