DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Electricity Loan 1958, of £500,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £500,000 authorised to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the distribution system of the Council’s electricity undertaking, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes a special rate of ·569d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the above mentioned date.

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sewerage Loan 1955, £85,000 — Balance £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926, the Richmond Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50,000 authorised to be raised by the Richmond Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the installation of a sewerage scheme, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of one penny (⁵⁄₈d.) in the pound on the capital rateable value of all rateable property within the special sewerage rating area of the Borough of Richmond, which shall be appropriated as security for the purpose of the payment of interest and principal of the said loan; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Richmond Borough Council held on the 8th day of July 1958.

TAURANGA HARBOUR BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Harbour Loan 1957, and Harbour Loan 1957 No. 2

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Harbours Act 1950, and the Tauranga Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act 1956 and the amendments and regulations thereunder respectively, and of all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges on the Board’s Harbour Loan 1957 of £234,000 and on the Board’s Harbour Loan No. 2 1957 of £116,000 authorised to be raised by the Tauranga Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Acts, the Tauranga Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one ninth of a penny (¹⁄₉d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Tauranga Harbour District; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loans and be payable yearly on the 10th day of August in each and every year, being a period of 35 years, until both the loans are fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Tauranga Harbour Board at a meeting held on the 23rd day of June 1958.

NEW PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 the New Plymouth City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £50,000 authorised to be raised by the New Plymouth City Council under the above-mentioned Act (which said loan is the first issue of the Streets Improvement Loan 1958 of £200,000) for the purpose of the reconstruction and surface sealing of streets, the construction of footpaths and kerbing and channelling, the provision of stormwater drains and the completion of an asphalt plant, the New Plymouth City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny (³⁄₁₆d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of New Plymouth; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of January and the 15th day of July in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the New Plymouth City Council held on 10 July 1958.

BOROUGH OF MANUREWA

SPECIAL ORDER

“THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and of all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Manurewa Borough Council hereby resolves by special resolution, intended to operate as a special order, that for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of twelve thousand pounds (£12,000) (hereinafter referred to as “the said loan”), being known as the Water Reticulation Loan 1958, the said loan being authorised to be raised by the Manurewa Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending water reticulation in the Borough, the said Manurewa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal four two (·42) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Manurewa, comprising the whole of the Borough of Manurewa, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable half-yearly in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

Dated at Manurewa this 5th day of May 1958.

The common seal of the body corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Manurewa was hereunto affixed in pursuance of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Manurewa Borough Council held on the 5th day of May 1958 in the presence of—

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF A PUBLIC HALL

In the matter of the Counties Act 1956 and the Public Works Act 1928 and in the matter of Kaitoke Hall.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wanganui County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to take the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto for a public hall; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the piece of land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situated at Campbell Place, Wanganui, and is open to inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of the said piece of land who have any well grounded objections to the taking of the said piece of land must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days of the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
