Reducing the Extent of a 30 Mile Per Hour Restriction

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant under Section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 6th day of April 1956,* which relates to an area at Paremata, Mana, and Plimmerton in Hutt and Makara Counties, is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads and portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hutt County—

That portion of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway No. 34 at Paremata, Mana, and Plimmerton, from a point 28 chains south of its junction with the Haywards-Paremata via Pauatahanui State Highway No. 95 to a point 5 chains north of its junction with James Street.

Also that portion of the Haywards-Paremata via Pauatahanui State Highway No. 95 from a point 18 chains south-east of its junction with Seaview Road at Golden Gate to its western end at Paremata.

Also Seaview Road, Golden Gate, Bayview Road, Golden Gate.

Also that portion of the old Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway (known as “The Crescent”) at Paremata from its southern junction with the present Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway No. 34 to its northern junction with the said State highway.

Price Order No. 1744 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1656) (Milk)

———

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following amending Price Order:

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1744, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1656* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. This order shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1958.

  3. The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clauses 5 (4), (5), and (6) thereof, and substituting the following new clauses:

“5. (4) Where an account is rendered to any purchaser for milk supplied during a period comprising more than one day the account shall, subject to the provisions of subclause (6) hereof, be calculated with respect to the aggregate quantity of milk purchased for the period, at the appropriate pint rate, and where the total sum so calculated is not an exact number of pence or halfpence the account may be rounded off to the next upward halfpenny.

“Provided that if the total quantity of milk supplied to any one purchaser on any one day (exclusive of milk supplied at any one time in a lot of a half-pint or less) is not less than one gallon the maximum price that may be charged for this quantity shall be computed at the appropriate gallonage rate as if the milk supplied on that day had been supplied in one lot.

“(5) Subject to the proviso to subclause (4) of this clause, if the price computed in accordance with this order for any lot of milk supplied at any one time and sold for cash is not an exact number of pence or halfpence, the price for the lot may be computed to the next upward halfpenny.

“(6) Where the quantity of milk supplied at any one time is a lot of a half-pint or less, the price of each lot shall be computed separately at the rate prescribed by this order for a half-pint, whether or not the account is rendered to the purchaser of the milk and whether or not the total quantity so supplied on any one day is one gallon or more.”

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Heretaunga Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 4 May 1938 and published in the Gazette, 12 May 1938, Volume II, page 1106.

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 9 June 1930 and published in the Gazette, 19 June 1930, Volume II, page 1938.
