Notice of Air Weapon Range: RNZAF Station, Ohakea

It is hereby notified that air to ground firing, practice bombing, and rocket firing will take place from time to time in the area of land described in the Schedule hereunder and known as the Raumai Air Weapon Range. This air weapon range is situated on the west coast of the North Island practically due west from the township of Bulls and approximately five miles up the coast in a northerly direction from the mouth of the Rangitikei River.

All of the operations will have been given prior authorisation by the Commanding Officer, RNZAF Station, Ohakea.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land situated in and adjoining Block VI, Koitiata Survey District, and containing 4,061 acres and 15·2 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the half-angle peg on the southern side of Sandridge Road, at its junction with Raumai Road opposite peg XX as shown on D.P. 2998; thence along right lines, having bearings and distances, as follows: 108° 28′, 2174 links; 122° 43′ 30″, 200 links; 223° 45′, 1100 links; 190° 00′, 120 links; 133° 45′, 1650 links; 194° 45′, 4180 links; 232° 00′, 3680 links; 262° 30′, 3480 links; 214° 54′, 6880·8 links; to the sea coast, and northerly along the sea coast for a distance of 120 links; thence seaward bearing 214° 54′, 17150 links; 324° 54′, 22416·9 links; 74° 54′, 21900 links, to the sea coast, and northerly along the sea coast for a distance of 900 links; thence bearing 51° 45′, 8650 links; 115° 18′ 30″, 2201·0 links and 105° 16′, 1637·32 links to the half-angle peg aforesaid on the southern side of Sandridge Road, as shown on a plan numbered S.O. 23958 deposited in the plan records of the Wellington Land District.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being testing officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
