Cancellation of the Vesting in the Norsewood Mechanics' Institute of a Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Norsewood Mechanics' Institute pursuant to the Norsewood Mechanics' Institute Site Act 1878 of the reserve for a site for a mechanics' institute described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 26th day of May 1958.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

That Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 17th day of March 1958* which relates to an area at Waihou in Piako County is hereby revoked.

The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

Exemption of Euclid 18-yard Scraper, Model S. 18, from Usual Parking Brake Requirements
Pursuant to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the adjustable scoop as fitted to the Euclid 18-yard Scraper, Model S. 18, as a compliance with regulation 42 of the said regulations relating to the fitting of a parking brake.

First Election of School Committees for Maori Schools
Pursuant to section 9 of the Education Amendment Act 1957, I hereby notify that the first biennial meeting of householders in each Maori school district for the purpose of the election of the school committee shall be held at the school on Saturday, the 31st day of May 1958; at 8 p.m., and the members then elected shall come into office forthwith. Household holders may nominate candidates at the meeting held for the election of the school committee, except in the case of the election of the school committee at the Manutahi Maori District High School, the Te Teko Maori School, the Tikitiki Maori District High School, and the Whakarewarewa Maori School. In those cases, nominations should be forwarded in writing to the head teacher of the school, to reach him not later than 8 p.m. on the 24th day of May 1958.
