Authorisation of the Exchange of Part of Orokawa Domain for Other Land

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby authorises the exchange of that part of the Orokawa Domain described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Lot 3, D.P. S. 4983, being part Waihi No. 1 Block, situated in Block III, Waihi North Survey District: Area, 19 acres and 34 perches, more or less. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1448A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Lot 1, D.P. S. 4983, being part Section 4. All certificate of title, Volume 654, folio 145.

Also Lot 2, D.P. S. 4983, being part Section 8. All certificate of title, Volume 821, folio 148.

Both situated in Block III, Waihi North Survey District: Total area, 16 acres 3 roods 30·5 perches, more or less. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1448B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Notification of Result of General Licensing Poll

PURSUANT to the Licensing Act 1908, I, Henry Greathead Rex Mason, Minister of Justice, hereby give notice that, at the General Licensing Poll held on 30 November 1957, valid votes were recorded as follows:

For national continuance ....... 723,059
For State purchase and control ....... 160,483
For national prohibition ....... 260,132

Total valid votes ....... 1,143,674

As the total number of valid votes recorded for either State purchase and control or national prohibition does not amount to more than one-half of all the valid votes recorded at the poll, the result of the poll is that national continuance is deemed to have been carried.
