Revoking Part of a Proclamation Defining the Middle Line of the Sockburn-Styx Railway

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 18th day of June 1953 and published in Gazette, 25 June 1953, Volume II, page 962, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 380751, defining the middle line of a portion of the Sockburn-Styx Railway, in so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
All those pieces of land in the Canterbury Land District, situated in Blocks VI and VII, Christchurch Survey District, described as follows:

Additional Land Near Waiwera Taken for the Purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway

COBHAM, Governor-General
A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway.

SCHEDULE
Approximate area of the piece of additional land taken: 1 acre 2 roods, being road adjoining Sections 1 and 2, Block XCIX, and Sections 11 and 12, Block XCVIII, Clutha Survey District, Clutha County.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 39627 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Crown Land Set Apart for Railway Purposes at Timaru

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for railway purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 20th day of January 1958.

SCHEDULE
All that piece of land in the Canterbury Land District containing 2 roods 6 perches, situated in the City of Timaru, and being Lots 66 and 67, D.P. 19380, being part Rural Section 2351. Formerly part certificate of title, Volume 545, folio 165, Canterbury Registry.

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for railway purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 20th day of January 1958.

SCHEDULE
Approximate area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 1 roods 0·8 perch. Being Section 60, Town of Edgecumbe, situated in Block III, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, shown on S.O. Plan 37310, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland. Situated in Whakatane County, South Auckland Land District.

Amending Declaration of Land, Otago Acclimatisation District, as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 16 May 1957, page 825, relating to the Otago Acclimatisation District, proclaiming and declaring certain areas to be wildlife refuges under the Wildlife Act 1953, to the extent appearing in the First Schedule hereto, and hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Second Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.

FIRST SCHEDULE
Area Revoked as Wildlife Refuge Under the Wildlife Act 1953
All that area, situated in Greenvale Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 15, Block XIII, Greenvale Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 15, 16, and 17, and their production to the right bank of the Pomahaka River; thence north-westerly up the right bank of the Leithen Burn to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Run 202A; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Run 202A to the Pomahaka River; thence easterly across and generally southerly down the left bank of the Pomahaka River to a point bearing 315 degrees from the north-eastern corner of Section 15, Block XIII, Greenvale Survey District; thence southerly along a straight line to that corner, the point of commencement.

As the same is shown on plan marked I.A. 52/221 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE
Area Declared to be a Wildlife Refuge Under the Wildlife Act 1953
All that area, situated in Greenvale Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Run 202A; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Run 202A to the Pomahaka River; thence easterly across the Pomahaka River and a road; thence generally southerly and south-easterly along the eastern and north-eastern boundary of the road on the left or east bank of the Pomahaka River to the eastern boundary of Section 17, Block XIII, Greenvale Survey District; thence southerly across that road and the Pomahaka River to its right bank; thence north-westerly up the right bank of the Pomahaka River to the confluence of the Leithen Burn; thence north-westerly up the right bank of the Leithen Burn to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Run 202A; thence north-westerly across the Leithen Burn to the point of commencement.

As the same is shown on plan marked I.A. 52/221 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
