Pursuant to section 15 of the Education Amendment Act 1924, the following supplementary list of additions or amendments made to the Teachers’ Register since 1 February 1958 are hereby published.

The names are arranged in two lists as follows:

(1) Additions to the Register or amendments in grading as a result of correction or change in status.

(2) Post-primary classification.

Specification Declared to be a Standard Specification

Pursuant to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 3 March 1958, declared the under-mentioned specification to be a standard specification:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 4 : 1958: Solid rolled steel railway wheels and disc wheel centres; being B.S. 468 : 1956 (superseding N.Z.S.S. 4; being B.S. 468 : 1932).

Price of Copy (Post Free): 3s. 6d.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification No. D 5500: Isolating Transformers

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the N.Z. Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C. 1.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 23 April 1958.

Price Order No. 1735 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 1734) (Laying Mash and Chick Mash)

Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following amending Price Order:

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1735, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1734* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. This order shall come into force on the 14th day of March 1958.

  3. The principal order is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the figures “£25 5 0” (appearing at the top of the third column in the Second Schedule under the heading “Manufacturers’ Prices to Merchants At the Rate Per Ton” for North Island No. 1 standard laying mash sold in the Auckland Metropolitan Area, ex-store) and substituting the figures “£25 15 0”.

Price Order No. 1736 (Tea in Packets)

Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following price order:

PRELIMINARY
  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1736, and shall come into force on the 14th day of March 1958.

  2. (1) Price Order No. 1592* is hereby revoked.
    (2) The revocation of the said order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this order.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
  1. This order applies to all packeted tea sold by a wholesaler or a retailer, but does not apply to tea sold as part of a meal.
FIXING MAXIMUM PRICES OF TEA TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
Wholesalers’ Prices
  1. The maximum price that may be charged or received by any wholesaler for any tea to which this order applies shall be not more than 4d. per pound in excess of the price charged to the wholesaler by the packer or blender for each respective brand and quantity purchased by such wholesaler.
Retailers’ Prices
  1. The maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any tea to which this order applies shall be not more than 9d. per pound in excess of the price charged to the retailer by the wholesaler for each respective brand and quantity purchased by such retailer.
General
  1. The price at which any lot of tea is sold, whether by a wholesaler or retailer, shall be calculated in respect of the particular lot sold.

  2. If the price authorised by this order for any lot of tea is not an exact number of halfpence, the price may be calculated to the next upward halfpenny.

PROVISION FOR APPROVAL OF SPECIAL PRICES
  1. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this order, and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any wholesaler or retailer may authorise special maximum prices in respect of any tea to which this order applies; provided the Tribunal is satisfied that any increased costs to the wholesaler or retailer making such application warrants such special maximum prices. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of tea or may relate generally to all tea sold by the wholesaler or retailer while the approval remains in force.
