Scheme of Control of Marlborough College

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Marlborough College being controlled, on and after the 1st day of June 1958, in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette, of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:

Provided that:

(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest borough within five miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Blenheim Borough Council” were substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week in the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held in the first week in the month of May in the year 1958 and such an election shall be held in the first week in the month of May in the year 1960” were substituted therefor:

(c) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 was a reference to the year 1960:

(d) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.

The Scheme of Control for Marlborough High School published in the Gazette, of 16 July 1915, Volume II, page 2436, and the amendment of that Scheme of Control published in the Gazette, of 31 July 1924, Volume II, page 1780, are hereby revoked as from 31 May 1958.
