Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not
Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act
1948 as from the 14th day of October 1957.

situated in Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, Borough of
Otahuhu, Auckland R.D., described as follows:

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan

the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
yellow.

Agreement for Grant of Right of Way in Favour of J. R.
McKenzie Ltd., a duly incorporated Company having its
Registered Office at Wellington, over Land in the Borough
of Takapuna, taken for a Post Office, Assented to
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 16th day of November
1950 and published in Gazette, 23 November 1950, Volume
III, page 2001, an area of land comprising 16 perches, being
Lot 4, D.P. 20819, being all certificate of title, Volume 838,
folio 244, Auckland Land Registry, situated in the Borough
of Takapuna, was taken together with the benefit of a right of
way over parts Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 20819, created by memorandum
of transfer No. 391163, Auckland Land Registry, for a
post office, and by a Proclamation dated the 30th day of
November 1956 and published in Gazette, 6 December 1956,
Volume III, page 1722, an area of land comprising 8 perches,
being part Lot 2, D.P. 4872, being part Allotment 81, Takapuna Parish, situated in the Borough of Takapuna, was taken
for a post office:
And whereas J. R. McKenzie Ltd., a duly incorporated
company having its registered office at Wellington, was entitled
to receive compensation for its freehold interest in the
area of 8 perches, being said part Lot 2, D.P. 4872:
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to
the said J. R. McKenzie Ltd. a right of way over part of the
said Lot 4, D.P. 20819, and part of the said part Lot 2, D.P.
4872, described in the Schedule hereto in part mitigation of
the compensation aforesaid:
And whereas the said J. R. McKenzie Ltd. has agreed to
accept the said grant of right of way in mitigation of the
said compensation:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice,
in pursuance of section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that
he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Approval of Hospitals for the Purposes of Section 10 (1) of
the Medical Practitioners Act 1950
Pursuant to subsection (1) of section 10 of the Medical
Practitioners Act 1950, the Minister of Health, acting on the
recommendation of the Medical Council, hereby approves
of the hospitals specified in the second column of the Schedule
hereto, and controlled in each case by the authority indicated
in respect thereof in the first column of that Schedule, as
hospitals in which any person who is for the time being
conditionally registered under that Act may practice medicine
or surgery.
This notice consolidates and amends the notices of approval
of institutions or hospitals published in the Gazette of 1952,
Volume II, at page 1193, in the Gazette of 1953, Volume I,
at page 171, and in the Gazette of 1953, Volume II, at page
910; and those notices are hereby revoked.
