Declaring Lands in Gisborne and Hawke's Bay Land Districts Vested in the Hawke's Bay Education Board as Sites for Public Schools to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school site or part of a school site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in Her Majesty, and thereupon the school site, or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the First and Second Schedules hereto, being areas vested in the Hawke's Bay Education Board as sites for public schools shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

FIRST SCHEDULE

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 3, Block XIV, Opoiti Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less. (S.O. Plan 2501.) Also Section 46, Block II, Motu Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 58, folio 234. (S.O. Plan 1197.)

SECOND SCHEDULE

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 24, Block VIII, Ruataniwha Survey District (formerly Lot 70, Deeds Plan 86,-being part Block 43, Ruataniwha Crown Grant District, situated in Block VIII, Ruataniwha Survey District): Area, 2 roods, more or less. All certificate of title, H.B. Volume 82, folio 226.

Part certificate of title, Volume 524, folio 153. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/1144A deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
