Boundaries of County of Rangitikei and Rangitoto Riding of that County Defined

Pursuant to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines as set out in the Schedule hereto the boundaries of the County of Rangitikei and the Rangitoto Riding of that county, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on 20 March 1957 and published in Gazette, 21 March 1957, No. 23, page 502.

SCHEDULE

Boundaries of County of Rangitikei

All that area in the Wellington and Hawke's Bay Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 15716, being part of Section 5, Block I, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of that lot, across the Owhakura Road, along the northern boundaries of Section 1, Block I, and Otara Road, along the northern boundaries of part of Section 2 and of Sections 3 and 4, Block I, and the northern boundaries of Section 1, part of Section 2, Section 3, across a road, and Section 4, all of Block II, Maungakaretu Survey District, to the Turakina River; thence to and along the middle of that river, to and along the northern boundaries of Raketapauma Nos. 3A 2, 1A 1, 1A 2, part of 1G, and part of 1I 2A and 1I 2B Blocks to the western side of the Waiouru-Bulls State Highway, as defined on the plan numbered S.O. 15525 lodged with the Chief Surveyor at Wellington; thence northerly generally along the western side of that part of the said highway defined on S.O. 15525 aforesaid, the western side of that part of the said highway on S.O. 15895, and the western side of that part of the said highway comprising area 3 roods 4 perches, coloured red, and defined on S.O. 21312, to the junction of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence northerly and westerly generally along the western and southern boundaries of that railway to the southern boundary of Section 12, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly along the southern and western boundaries of Section 12 aforesaid, the western boundaries of Sections 16 and 10, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District, the northern boundary of Section 10 aforesaid to the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence easterly along a right line across that railway, across the Raetihi-Waiouru State Highway to the north-western corner of part of Section 9, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of part of Section 9 aforesaid to the western side of the Waiouru-Turangi State Highway; thence northerly generally along the western side of that highway to its intersection with the right line from Ruapehu Trig. Station to Trig. Station 28 (Manukaiapu); thence easterly generally along that right line to Trig. Station 28 and along right lines to Trig. Station 27, Trig. Station 26 (Tawheketewhango), and along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 65A to its intersection with the middle of the Ngaruroro River; thence down the middle of that river and up the middle of the Taruarau River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Block 78, Maraekakaho Crown Grant District; thence along a right line to Trig. Station Y on the summit of the Ruahine Range in Block XII, Pukeokahu Survey District; thence southerly along the summit of the said range to a point due east of the source of the Kawhatau River; thence westerly and south-westerly to and down the middle of the said river and of the Rangitikei River to a point in the middle of its mouth; thence north-westerly to and along the sea coast and a right line to a point in the middle of the mouth of the Whangaehu River; thence up the middle of the Whangaehu River to a point due west and distant about 18 chains from the western boundary of Block XIV, Mangawhero Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line through Okaiepe Trig. Station to the summit of the eastern watershed of the Whangaehu River; thence along lines from hill to hill along the summit of the said watershed to its intersection with the southern boundary of part of Section 63, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of that section to the north-eastern boundary of Section 77, Block XVI, Ngamatea Survey District; thence along the said boundary and its production to the middle of Hales Road; thence northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 70, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 71, Block XII, Ngamatea Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Koukoupo Road; thence northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of the land defined on D.P. 11789, being part Pungataua Block; thence to and along that boundary, the eastern boundaries of Sections 9 and 6, Block VIII, Ngamatea Survey District, and the eastern boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Ngamatea Survey District, to the point of commencement; excluding the Boroughs of Marton and Taihape, and the Town Districts of Hunterville and Mangaweka.

Boundaries of Rangitoto Riding

All that area in the County of Rangitikei bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in line with the north-western boundary of Run 19, situated in Block V, Koitiata Survey District, the said point being on the boundary of the County of Rangitikei hereinbefore described; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Block CLXX, part C

**of the north-eastern boundary of Block CXLVII, the north-western boundary of Block CLXVI, part of the south-western and the north-western boundaries of Block CXV, the north-western and northern boundaries of Block XCVIII, all these blocks of Rangitikei District, and along the western boundary and its production of Section 37, Rangitikei Agricultural Reserve, to the middle of the Wanganui-Levin State Highway; thence easterly generally along the middle of that highway, Williamson Road, Makirikiri Road, Crofton Road, and the Waiouru-Bulls State Highway, to and along the northern boundaries generally of Block Va, Rangitikei District, situated in Block VII, Rangitoto Survey District, and along the production of the last-mentioned boundary to a point in the middle of the Rangitikei River, being a point on the boundary of the Rangitikei County hereinbefore described; thence south-westerly and northerly along the boundary of that county to a point on the sea coast in line with the north-western boundary of Run 19 aforesaid, being the point of commencement.

Fixing the Rates of Levy on Wool Produced in New Zealand

Pursuant to section 12 (2) of the Wool Industry Act 1944, the New Zealand Wool Board hereby fixes the rates of the levy to be charged, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, on wool as defined in the Act for the season commencing the 1st day of October 1957 as follows:

(a) For each bale, 3s.
(b) For each fadge, 1s. 6d.
(c) For each bag or sack, 6d.

Specification Declared to be a Standard Specification

Pursuant to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 6 September 1957, declared the under-mentioned specification to be a standard specification:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 1240: Safety requirements for electric fires; being B.S. 1670:1956 (amended to meet New Zealand requirements), superseding N.Z.S.S. 1240; being B.S. 1670:1951 (amended to meet New Zealand requirements).

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. G.P. 22: Domestic electric clothes-washing machines with wringers.

Amendment: No. 1, September 1957.
