BOROUGH OF TE AROHA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Te Aroha Borough Council Waterworks Extension Loan 1956, £35,000
NOTICE is hereby given that, at a special meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council held on the 20th day of August 1957, the following resolution was passed:
“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves:
“(a) That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on the Waterworks Extension Loan 1956, £35,000, authorised to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one decimal one two seven eight five six pence (1·127856d.) in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha (on the basis of the unimproved value); and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, during the period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
“(b) That a sinking fund be and the same is hereby established in order to provide funds for the repayment of the securities to be issued in respect of the said loan.
“(c) That the Council shall pay to the Commissioner of the said sinking fund on the 1st day of September 1958 and on every subsequent 1st day of September up to and including the 1st day of September 1967 a contribution of not less than one pound seventeen shillings and twopence (£1 17s. 2d.) per cent per annum calculated on the amount raised.
“(d) That the said annual contributions are hereby permanently appropriated and pledged out of the special rate made and levied by the Council for the purpose.
“(e) That, in pursuance with its power and authorities, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby appoints the Public Trustee to be the sole Commissioner of the sinking fund hereinbefore provided for and such appointment shall be irrevocable, anything contained in the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 or in any other Act to the contrary notwithstanding so long as any moneys shall remain owing under the securities to be issued in respect of the said loan.
“(f) That such sinking fund shall be dealt with and managed as required by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and all other Acts or laws for the time being in force applicable thereto and all moneys coming into the hands of the Public Trustee by virtue of this sinking fund shall be dealt with by him in accordance therewith.”

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waikohu County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £2,333 authorised to be raised by the Waikohu County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of No. 5 Bridge across the Wharekopae River on the Hihiroroa Road, the said Waikohu County Council hereby makes a special rate of one shilling and twopence in the pound on the basis of the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Wharekopae River No. 5 Bridge Hihiroroa Road Special Rating Area, comprising all those parcels of land described as follows:
Lot 1, D.P. 2207, of Okahuatiu Block, also part Okahuatiu No. 1c Block, also Section 3, Block 1, Waikohu S.D., Blocks I, V, VI, Waikohu S.D., containing in all 1,015 acres and 32 6 perches, more or less, and part Section 27, Block 1, Waikohu S.D., containing in all 263 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten years commencing from the first day of April 1957, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Waikohu County Council held on the 19th day of August 1957.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
HAWKE'S BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) authorised to be raised by the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out further reticulation in its district (excluding the Borough of Napier as constituted on the 6th day of July 1925), the said Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board hereby makes a special rate of one twenty-fourth of a penny (½d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the constituent districts of the County of Hawke's Bay, the Boroughs of Havelock North and Taradale, the City of Hastings and within that portion of the City of Napier as at present constituted which on the 6th day of July 1925 was included in the County of Hawke's Bay; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twelve (12) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NELSON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purposes of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £45,000 to be known as the Streets Improvement Loan 1957 authorised to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing kerbing and channelling in some city streets and completing construction of Vanguard Street, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and fifteen/five-hundred-and-twelfths of a penny (115/512d.) in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Nelson comprising the whole of the said city; and such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten years, or until such loan is paid off.”
The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Nelson City Council at an ordinary meeting held on the 15th day of August 1957.
