Social Security Amendment Act 1939—Maternity Notice

WHEREAS, pursuant to subsection (5) of section 13 of the
Social Security Amendment Act 1939, the Minister of Health
gave notice, on the 10th day of May 1956, that advice had
been received from Norman Reay Mackay, M.B., CH.B., of
Kelvin Chambers, Wellington, that he was unwilling to afford
medical services in relation to maternity on the terms provided for in the said section 13, and that consequently he was
entitled to recover any fees in respect of his professional services as if the said Act had not been passed: And whereas
advice has been received from the said Norman Reay Mackay
that he is now willing to afford medical services in relation
to maternity on the terms provided for in the said section 13:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Health hereby gives notice
that the said Norman Reay Mackay is entitled to receive from
the Social Security Fund fees calculated in accordance with
the scale of fees for the time being in force in respect of
medical services afforded in relation to maternity benefits.
The said notice dated the 10th day of May 1956 is hereby
revoked.

Boundaries of Borough of Whangarei, County of Whangarei,
and Manaia Riding of County of Whangarei Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set
out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough
of Whangarei, the County of Whangarei, and the Manaia
Riding of the County of Whangarei, the previous boundaries
having been altered by Order in Council made on 27 February
1957, and published in Gazette, 7 March 1957, No. 20,
page 436.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF WHANGAREI

All that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded
by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Purua Survey
District, being the intersection of the southern boundary of
Lot 1, D.P. 30191, being part of Allotment 2, Parish of
Whangarei, with the middle of the Otangarei Stream, and
running south-easterly generally down the middle of that
stream, to and down the right bank of the Hatea River, to
the southernmost corner of the part Allotment 2, Parish of
Whangarei, situated in Block IX, Whangarei Survey District,
comprised in certificate of title, Volume 526, folio 19 (limited
as to parcels and title); thence along a right line across the
said Hatea River, to and along the southern and south-eastern
boundaries of the part Parahaki No. 1 Block, comprised in
certificate of title, Volume 542, folio 37 (limited as to parcels),
to and along the generally western boundary of Parahaki
Maori Reserve, along the northern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 47, Deeds Plan 60, and the north-eastern and
eastern boundaries of Lot 55A, Deeds Plan 67, being parts
Parahaki No. 3 Block, and along the north-eastern end of
Dundas Road to its south-eastern side; thence along a right
line to the northernmost corner of the part Allotment 2,
Parish of Parahaki, shown on D.P. 17205, and along the
north-western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries
of that part Allotment 2, to and along the south-western boundary of another part of the aforesaid Allotment 2, shown on
D.P. 19998, along a right line being that boundary produced
to the middle of the Old Parua Bay Road, and along the
middle of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 12, D.P. 18256, being part Allotment 4 of the
last-mentioned parish; thence along a right line to and along
the western and south-western boundaries of the said Lot 12,
along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 30,
Block IX aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of
Lot 26, D.P. 18256 aforesaid, being part Allotment 5 of the
said parish, to and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 2
and 4, D.P. 27781, being parts of Allotments 5, 6, and 114
of the said parish, along a right line being the last-mentioned
boundary produced to the middle of Mackesy Road, and
along the middle of that road to and along the middle of
Rata Road, to and along the southern end of that road,
along the western boundary generally of Lot 75, D.P. 18256,
being part of Allotment 6 aforesaid, and along a right line
being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle
of the old Whangarei-Onerahi Highway; thence along the
middle of that highway to and along the middle of the public
road forming the northern boundary of Section 32, Block IX
aforesaid, to a point in line with the generally northern boundary of part Te Wharauroa No. 1 Block, comprised in certificate of title, Volume 1038, folio 300, and along a right line

of that part No. 1 Block, to and along a series of right lines
parallel to, and 250 links distant from, the north-eastern side
of the new Whangarei-Onerahi Main Highway as shown on
S.O. Plan 35933, to the left bank of the Waimahanga Stream;
thence down the said bank to and along the north-eastern
side of the new highway aforesaid to a point in Block XIII,
Whangarei Survey District, on the south-eastern boundary of
the part Waimahanga No. 2 Block shown on D.P. 22981, and
along that south-eastern boundary and the south-eastern
boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 24775, being part Waimahanga
No. 1 Block, to and along the south-western boundary of
Lot 3, D.P. 24775 aforesaid, being part Allotment 25, Wariara
Parish, and along that boundary produced across a public
road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of
Lot 3, D.P. 24243, being Allotment 1, Owhiwa Parish, and
along another right line to and along that boundary, to and
along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of
Lot 4, D.P. 24243 aforesaid, being Allotments 32 and 33,
Suburbs of Grahamtown, to the angle in the public road
forming part of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P.
43242, being part Allotments 46 and 53, Suburbs of Grahamtown; thence across the said public road, to and along the
eastern boundary of the area of public road closed by Proclamation published in Gazette, No. 78, of the 22nd day of
December 1932, at page 2766, being a series of right lines
through Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 43242 aforesaid, being parts of the
said Allotments 46 and 53, and through Crown land, to and
north-easterly along the north-western side of a public road
to the shores of the Whangarei Harbour; thence southerly,
westerly, and northerly generally along those shores, to and
up the left bank of the stream forming the western end of
the public road which forms the north-western boundaries of
Allotments 17 and 18, Suburbs of Grahamtown, to and north-easterly along the north-western side of the last-mentioned
public road, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of
Lots 7, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, and 30,
D.P. 43181, being parts Waimahanga No. 2 Block, across a
public road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of the
part Waimahanga No. 2 Block, shown on D.P. 22981, to the
south-western side of the new Whangarei-Onerahi Main Highway aforesaid; thence westerly generally along that southwestern side, to and down the left bank of the Waimahanga
Stream aforementioned, to and along the south-eastern and
western boundaries generally of Section 24, Block IX aforesaid, to the angle in the western boundary of that section near
the mouth of the Waimahanga Stream at low water; thence
along a right line to a point in the middle of the Whangarei
River channel at low water opposite the mouth of the Awaroa
Stream channel at low water, and again westerly generally
up the middle of the low-water channel of the Whangarei River
to a point bearing 38° 36' 30" from the middle of a bridge
on the Port Whangarei Road crossing the Haha or Limeburners Creek; thence along a right line from that last-mentioned point in the middle of the Whangarei River, and
passing through the middle of the bridge aforesaid, to the
north-eastern side of the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway; thence still westerly generally along the north-eastern
side of that railway to the eastern boundary of Okara Block
and along a right line across the said railway, to and along
the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 26761, being part of the
said Okara Block, to a public road; thence along a right line
across the said public road to peg No. XXVII shown on S.O.
Plan 22721, and along a series of right lines bearing 257° 36',
distant 1045·3 links, bearing 265° 35', distant 571·4 links,
bearing 239° 06', distant 205·3 links, bearing 275° 09' 30",
distant 440·0 links, bearing 312° 55', distant 332·2 links, and
bearing 300° 12', distant 95·0 links, to the middle of Morningside Road; thence along the middle of that road, along
the middle of High Street, to and along the middle of Mount
Pleasant Street and the middle of Otaika Road to a point in
line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 36597,
being part of the southern portion of Raumanga No. 2 Block;
thence northerly generally along a right line to and along the
north-eastern boundaries of the said Lot 1, and of Lots 3, 4,
5, 6, 7, and 8, D.P. 43731, and the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Lot 1, D.P. 39333, to and along
the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 6, D.P. 32891, the
aforesaid lots all being parts of the southern portion of
Raumanga No. 2 Block aforementioned, situated in Block
XII, Purua Survey District, and along a right line being the
production of the last-mentioned boundary across Raumanga
Road to the middle of the Raumanga Stream; thence up the
middle of the said stream to a point in line with the eastern
boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 42098, being part of the northern
portion of the said Raumanga No. 2 Block; thence along a
right line to and along the eastern boundaries of Lot 4 aforesaid, and of Lots 5, 1, and 3, D.P. 42098 aforementioned, and
along the western and northern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P.
34996 (now dedicated road), to and along the southern side
of Hospital Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary
of the land shown on D.P. 3158, the aforesaid lots being parts
