north-easterly along that boundary to Trig. Station Puke-
puke; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station
Pukeruhuru No. 2, being a point on the north-western
boundary of Waipaoa Block; thence again north-easterly
along that boundary and its production to its intersection
with a right line between Trig. Stations Maungapohatu and
Puketapu; thence south-easterly along that right line to its
intersection with the western boundary of Tahora No. 2F,
Section 2, Subdivision 2; thence northerly along that bound-
ary to the northernmost corner of Lot 18 of Tahora 2F,
Section 2; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern
boundary of the said Lot 18 to the northern boundary of
Lot 23 on the plan numbered 1952 deposited in the office of
the District Land Registrar at Gisborne; thence easterly along
that boundary and the northern boundary of Lot 24 on the
said plan numbered 1952 to the eastern boundary of the said
Lot 24; thence south-easterly generally along that boundary,
the north-eastern boundary of Lot 21 on the plan numbered
1951 deposited as aforesaid, the northern boundaries of
Sections 3 and 1, Block VIII, Tuahu Survey District, and the
south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and its
production to the middle of the Hangaroa Junction-Wai-
karemoana Road; thence north-easterly along the middle of
that road to a point in line with the north-eastern side of
Bushy Knoll Road; thence south-easterly to and along that
roadside to the northern boundary of Section 10, Block IX,
Hangaroa Survey District; thence south-westerly along a
right line across the said Bushy Knoll Road to the north-
western corner of the last-mentioned Section 10; thence
south-easterly generally along the western boundary of the
said Section 10, the south-western boundary of Section 11,
Block IX, Hangaroa Survey District, the north-western and
north-eastern boundaries of Tauwharetoi 4B Block, the north-
eastern boundary of Tauwharetoi 3B 1 Block, and the
north-western boundary of Section 2, Block XIV, Hangaroa
Survey District, and its production to the middle of the
Hangaroa River; thence down the middle of that river to a
point in line with the eastern boundary of Mangapoike 2A
No. 2 Block; thence southerly to and along that boundary
to the north-western boundary of Lot 4 on the plan number-
ed 1938 deposited as aforesaid; thence north-easterly generally
along that boundary and the northern boundary of Lot 5
on the plan numbered 1939 deposited as aforesaid, to the
easternmost point of the said Lot 5; thence south-westerly
along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 5 to its
intersection with a right line running from peg B at the
confluence of the Hangaroa and Ruakituri Rivers on plan
numbered 392 lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at
Gisborne, through peg XII on the plan numbered 524 lodged
as aforesaid; thence south-easterly along that right line to
the sea coast at Paritu, in Block XIII, Paritu Survey Dis-
trict; thence southerly and easterly generally along the sea
coast to its intersection with the right bank of the Waitaha
Stream, being the point of commencement, and including
Portland Island.
As the said area is more particularly delineated on the
plan numbered S.H.D. 455 deposited in the office of the
State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington, and thereon
outlined in red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government, and issued under the Seal of New
Zealand, this 23rd day of August 1957.

Altering the Boundaries of the South Canterbury and Waitaki
Electric Power Districts

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, I, Major-
General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough,
the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby
alter the boundaries of the South Canterbury and Waitaki
Electric Power Districts by excluding the areas described in
the First Schedule hereto from the Waitaki Electric Power
District and including such areas in the South Canterbury
Electric Power District, and by excluding the area described
in the Second Schedule hereto from the South Canterbury
Electric Power District and including such area in the Waitaki
Electric Power District; and I hereby declare that the altered
boundaries of the South Canterbury and Waitaki Electric
Power Districts shall be those described in the Third and
Fourth Schedules hereto respectively.
FIRST SCHEDULE
(a) All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate
County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the
middle of the north branch of the Waihao River in line with
the southern boundary of Rural Section 33327, Block III,
Waihao Survey District; thence westerly generally to and
along the southern and western boundaries of that rural sec-
tion, the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 33326 and
31297, across a public road forming the general north-western
boundary of part Rural Section 31297; thence along the
southern side of that road to the eastern boundary of part
Rural Section 29669; thence southerly and westerly along the
eastern and southern boundaries of that section crossing a
public road and Pentland Hills Road to the eastern boundary
of part Rural Section 29733; thence northerly along the
eastern boundaries of part Rural Section 29733, crossing
Skevington Road, Rural Section 31359x, and part Rural Sec-
tion 31359, and westerly and southerly along the northern and
western boundaries of the said part Rural Section 31359 to
the southern boundary of Rural Section 31753; thence westerly
and northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Small
Grazing Runs 276 (R.S. 36391) and 176 (R.S. 36388) and
the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle
of the north branch of the Waihao River; thence south-
easterly generally along the middle of that river to the point
of commencement. As the said area is shown coloured yellow
on the plan marked S.H.D. 456 deposited in the office of the
State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
(b) All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate
County, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern
corner of Section 1, Block I, Elephant Hill Survey District,
being on the southern side of a public road forming the north-
eastern boundary of the said section; thence north-westerly
and south-westerly generally along the north-eastern and
north-western boundary of the said section to the south-
western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 3451; thence north-westerly
and north-easterly generally along the south western and north-
western boundaries of the said Lot 3 to the south-western
boundary of Rural Section 36395; thence northwesterly gen-
erally along the south-western boundaries of that rural section
to its westernmost point; thence north-easterly and south-
easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries
of Rural Sections 36395 and 33227 to the north-eastern corner
of the latter section, being a point on the boundary of the
South Canterbury Electric Power District; thence southerly
generally along the eastern boundary of Rural Section 33227,
the northern and eastern boundary of Rural Section 21743,
the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 21744, 21745, 21746,
29691, 29698, and 29697 to a public road; thence along a right
line across that road to the point of commencement. As the
said area is shown coloured yellow on the said plan S.H.D.
456.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate
County, being Section 1, Block VI, Elephant Hill Survey
District, Reserve 3518, and intersecting roads. As the said
area is shown coloured green on the said plan S.H.D. 456.
THIRD SCHEDULE
SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, being the
County of Levels, and parts of the Counties of Geraldine,
Mackenzie, and Waimate, the boroughs of Geraldine, Temuka,
and Waimate, and the City of Timaru, bounded by a line
commencing at a point in the middle of the Rangitata River
at its confluence with the sea; thence south-westerly generally
along the mean high-water mark of the sea to the mouth of
the Waitaki River; thence to and westerly along the middle
of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary
of Section 3, Block V, Elephant Hill Survey District; thence
north-easterly to and along that boundary and north-easterly
and north-westerly along south-eastern and north-eastern
boundaries of Section 1, Block VI, Elephant Hill Survey
District, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block I,
Elephant Hill Survey District; thence north-easterly, north-
westerly, and south-westerly generally along the south-eastern,
north-eastern, and north-western boundaries of that section to
the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 3451; thence north-
westerly and north-easterly generally along the south-western
and north-western boundaries of the said Lot 3 to the south-
western boundary of Rural Section 36395; thence north-
westerly generally along the south-western boundaries of that
rural section to its westernmost point; thence north-easterly
and south-easterly generally along the north-western and
north-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 36395 and 33227
to the western boundary of Block XIV, Waihao Survey
District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of
Blocks XIV, X, and VI, Waihao Survey District, to the
north-western corner of the last-mentioned block; thence
easterly along the northern boundary of the said Block VI
to the eastern boundary of Small Grazing Run 276 (R.S.
36391); thence northerly generally along that boundary and
the eastern boundary of Small Grazing Run 176 (R.S. 36388)
and its production to the middle of the north branch of the
Waihao River; thence northerly generally along the middle
of that river and continuing to the summit of Mount Nimrod;
thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station F,
Block II, Nimrod Survey District, on the summit of the
