Amending Declaration of Land, West Coast Acclimatisation District (Formerly Gazetted in Westland Acclimatisation District), as a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 21 February 1929, Volume I, page 445, relating to the Westland Acclimatisation District, notifying and declaring certain areas to be sanctuaries under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22 to the extent appearing in the First Schedule hereto; and I hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Second Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge in the West Coast Acclimatisation District for the purpose of the Wildlife Act 1953; and I hereby further declare that the restrictions on the use of boats set out in the Third Schedule hereto shall apply to the Lake described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA REVOKED AS A SANCTUARY UNDER THE ANIMALS PROTECTION AND GAME ACT 1921-22
LAKE Haupiri: All that area in the Westland Land District, situated in Block VII, Kopara Survey District, being Lake Haupiri and the area of land lying within 20 chains of the shores thereof.
SECOND SCHEDULE
AREA DECLARED TO BE A WILDLIFE REFUGE UNDER THE WILDLIFE ACT 1953
LAKE Haupiri, situated in the County of Grey, Westland Land District: All that area situated in Block III, VI, and VII, Kopara Survey District, known as Lake Haupiri, and the area included within a line parallel to, and 20 chains distant from, the shores of the said lake.
As the same is shown on plan marked I.A. 52/131 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
THIRD SCHEDULE
RESTRICTION AS TO USE OF BOATS UNDER THE WILDLIFE AMENDMENT ACT 1956
LAKE Haupiri: The use of boats in Lake Haupiri is hereby restricted to boats wholly propelled by oars, sails, or paddles.

Otago Advances Fair

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 21st day of August 1957
Present:
His Excellency the Administrator of the Government in Council
Pursuant to the Exhibitions Act 1910, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- This order may be cited as the Otago Advances Fair Order 1957.
- In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,-- "The Act" means the Exhibitions Act 1910:
"The promoter" means the Otago-Southland Manufacturers' Association (Incorporated):
"The exhibition" means a public exhibition of works of industry and art, to be conducted by the promoter at the Brydone Agricultural and Pastoral Halls, Crawford Street, Dunedin, from the 21st day of August 1957 to the 31st day of August 1957 (both inclusive), and to be known as the Otago Advances Fair. - The exhibition is hereby authorised, and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.
- Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto, the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done or business conducted or services rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely--such of the provisions of--
(a) The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954 and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder;
(b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955; and
(c) The Factories Act 1946,-- as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime or extended hours, or to holidays and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.
SCHEDULE
- Eight hours shall constitute a day's work in or about the exhibition, and, with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the hours shall be worked consecutively.
- No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than four hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.
- Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than eight hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m. (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first two hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter, and any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions
