Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister
of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of
clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as
they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not
apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof
the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of their employment for the employers
described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not
authorise them, while they are under the age of eighteen
years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Time and Place of Elections by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Friday, 6 September 1957, as the time, and the offices of the Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association, Victoria Arcade, Auckland, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member on each of the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 9) 1957

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 9) 1957.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 16th day of August 1957.
  2. Goods of the classes specified in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.
  3. The exemptions specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby revoked.

Plant Declared a Noxious Weed in the County of Waitaki (Notice No. Ag. 6350)

Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Assistant Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waitaki County Council on the 26th day of July 1957.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Council of the County of Waitaki hereby declares that the plants in the Schedule hereto attached shall be declared noxious weeds within the district comprising the whole of the County of Waitaki as at present constituted.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Morrinsville (Notice No. Ag. 6344)

Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Deputy Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purpose of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Morrinsville Borough Council on the 28th day of May 1957.

SPECIAL ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Morrinsville Borough Council hereby declares, by way of special order, the following plants to be noxious weeds within the Borough of Morrinsville:
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna). Bind weed (Convolvulus arvensis). Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or Creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense). Greater bind weed (Calystegia sepium). Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla).
