AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of £700,000 to be known as the Works Loan 1957 authorised
to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out street,
drainage, and miscellaneous works in the City of Auckland
and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two and
one-seventh pence (21/7d.) in the pound (£) upon the rate-
able value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable
property in the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of
the City of Auckland; and that the special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and
shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and
every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of
twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
Certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the
Auckland City Council held on the 22nd day of July 1957.

MANIOTOTO COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Maniototo County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £26,000 authorised to be raised by the Maniototo
County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the er-
ection of houses and garages and purchasing land, the said
Maniototo Council hereby makes a special rate of one-sixth
(⅙th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all
rateable property of the County of Maniototo; and that the
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 15th day
of August in each and every year during the currency of the
loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan
is fully paid off."
The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of
the Maniototo County Council held on the 26th day of
July 1957.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering and
Amendment Act 1924, the Public Works Act 1928, and
their respective amendments, and the Municipal Corpora-
tions Act 1954.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council pro-
poses, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all
other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf,
to execute a certain public work, namely, for a street at
Caledonia Street and Calabar Road in the City of Wellington,
and for the purposes of such public work the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is
hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to
the said Council in the Municipal Offices Building, Mercer
Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection without
fee by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work or
the taking of such land should if they have well grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of the said land set forth the same in writing and send
such writing within forty days from the first publication of this
notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town
Clerk at his said office.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington con-
taining by admeasurement one and one-tenth perches (1·1 p.),
more or less, being part of Section 9, Watts Peninsula District,
being part of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 16357, and being
also the land more particularly shown on S.O. Plan 23864,
and thereon coloured blue.

KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and in the
matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954,
NOTICE is hereby given that the Kaiapoi Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to execute a certain public work, namely, the taking of land
lying between Hilton and Raven Streets in the said borough
for housing for the aged, and for the purposes of such public
work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required
to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan
of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public
office of the Town Clerk to the said Council situated in High
Street, Kaiapoi, and is open for inspection without fee by all
persons during ordinary office hours; all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of
such lands who have any well grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
lands must state their objections in writing and send the
same within forty days from the first publication of this
notice to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, High
Street, Kaiapoi.
SCHEDULE
ONE rood thirty-eight perches (1 r. 38 p.), situated in the
Borough of Kaiapoi, being part Rural Section 297, the same
being outlined sepia on plan numbered S.O. 8994 in the office
of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch, copy whereof is de-
outed in the office of the Town Clerk as aforesaid.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
In the matter of a Private Bill intitled "An Act to extend
the powers of The Presbyterian Church Property Trustees
constituted under the provisions of the Presbyterian
Church Property Act 1885 so as to enable the said
trustees to amalgamate investments and money of
trust funds now and hereafter to be held by or vested
in the said trustees."
NOTICE is hereby given that the Presbyterian Church Prop-
erty Trustees, a body corporate constituted under the Presby-
terian Church Property Act 1885 (hereinafter referred to as
"the said trustees") intends to apply to the House of
Representatives in Parliament assembled for leave to bring
in the above-mentioned Bill, the short title of which is The
Presbyterian Church Property Trustees Empowering Act 1957.
The objects of the Bill are: (a) to enable the said
trustees to amalgamate investments and money of trust funds
now and hereafter to be held by or vested in the said trustees;
(b) to define the type of investments and the mode of
amalgamation thereof; (c) to define the mode in which all
moneys so amalgamated shall be invested and dealt with.
The promoter of the Bill is the said The Presbyterian
Church Property Trustees whose address for service of
notices and communications is at the offices of its duly
appointed solicitors, Messrs Macalister, Mazengarb, Parkin,
and Rose, 21 Brandon Street, Wellington, where a copy of
the Bill may be inspected.
Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before
the 26th day of July 1957.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
