NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE TRANSPORT CENTRE LOAN OF £150,000

Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities' Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Lower Hutt taken on the 27th day of July 1957, on the proposal of the Lower Hutt City Council to borrow the sum of £150,000 for the purpose of erecting a transport centre in the city:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,000.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,684.
The number of informal votes was 52.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, the Housing Improvement Act 1945, and their respective amendments, and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
Notice is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work, namely, for the purposes of Part II of the Housing Improvement Act 1945 at Adelaide Road and King Street in the City of Wellington and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public offices of the Town Clerk of the said Council in the Municipal Offices Building, Mercer Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.
