Water Authority in Franklin County

At the Government House at Wellington this 23rd day of

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Underground Water Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order may be cited as the Franklin Underground Water Authority Order 1957.

On and after the date of the making of this order:
(a) The area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be an underground water area.
(b) The said underground water area shall be known as the Franklin Underground Water Area.
(c) The Underground Water Authority for the Franklin Underground Water Area shall be an Underground Water Committee specially constituted for the purpose. -
The Underground Water Committee shall consist of eight members appointed by the constituent local authorities set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

The number of members appointed by each such constituent local authority shall be the number specified in the Second Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent local authority.

Each member shall represent the constituent local authority by which he is appointed.
FIRST SCHEDULE
All that area enclosed by the boundaries of the Franklin County including its seaward bounds and including the areas of all local authorities enclosed within such boundaries and bounds.

FIRST SCHEDULE
All that land in the provincial district of Hawke's Bay commencing at a point on the coast line of Hawke's Bay where the boundary line between Clive Survey District and Kidnapper Survey District meets the coast line; thence in a south-westerly direction along the southern boundary of Clive Survey District to the western bank of the Tukituki River; thence in a southerly and south-westerly direction along the western bank of the Tukituki River to a point where the boundary between Te Mata Survey District and Kidnapper Survey District meets the western bank of the Tukituki River; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Block VIII and XII, Te Mata Survey District, to the south-east corner of Block XII; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of Blocks XII, XI, X, and IX, Te Mata Survey District, and Block XII, Maraekakaho Survey District, to the south-western corner of that block; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Blocks XII, VIII, and IV, Maraekakaho Survey District, to the southern bank of the Ngaruroro River; thence in an easterly direction along the southern bank of the Ngaruroro River to the north-east corner of Block IV, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Blocks XIII, IX, V, and I of Heretaunga Survey District to the north-west corner of Block I, Heretaunga Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Blocks I and II, Heretaunga Survey District, to the south-west corner of Block XI, Puketapu Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Blocks XV and XI, Puketapu Survey District; thence generally in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Blocks XI and XII, Puketapu Survey District, to a point where this boundary meets the coast line of Hawke's Bay; thence in a generally southerly direction along the shore line of Hawke's Bay to the point of commencement.

Consenting to Land Being Taken for Street in the City of Timaru

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for street.

All those pieces of land in the Canterbury Land District, situated in the City of Timaru, Canterbury R.D., described as follows:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
