HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Charles MacNab, of Raorikea, Wanganui, farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- In respect of the electric lines hereby authorised the licensee shall comply with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and shall be an alternating-current system.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described commencing at the licensee's generator situated on Road Reserve adjacent to the north-eastern corner of Section 24, and proceeding in a northeasterly direction across the Kauarapapaoa Stream to the licensee's house situated in Puketarata 4H 2; thence easterly to a whare and shearers' quarters situated in the said Puketarata 4H 2; and thence northerly to a shearing shed situated in the said Puketarata 4H 2. All being situated in Block X, Waipakura Survey District, in the County of Waitotara. The said lines being more particularly shown by means of red lines on the plan marked S.H.D. 435 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Roy Arthur Cyril Newman, of Owen River, Nelson, farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Section 3, Block VIII, Matiri Survey District, in the County of Murchison, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1 cubic foot per second at any one time, and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.

UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Section 3, Block VIII, Matiri Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 92559 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 92559.
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with water race and pipelines leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 120 ft.
(b) Water wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 3, Block VIII, Matiri Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said water wheel to the Owen River.
(d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse in a south-westerly direction to a cowshed situated in Section 13, thence in a southerly direction to a pole situated in Section 12, and thence in an easterly direction to a house situated in Section 13; all being situated in Block VIII, Matiri Survey District, the said lines being more particularly shown by means of red lines on the said plan P.W.D. 92559.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 16th day of February 1938 and published in the Gazette on the 17th day of the same month, at page 280, authorising Walter Scott, of Dillonsdale, Kaikoura, farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines, the rights, powers, and privileges under the said Order in Council having been assigned to John McGregor Turnbull, of Dillonsdale, Kaikoura, sheep farmer.
