Pursuant to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950,
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers,
resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand
Army:
HEADQUARTERS, 1ST INFANTRY BRIGADE
Lieutenant P. R. Raue, M.A., 1st Battalion, The Auckland
Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), R.N.Z. Inf., relinquishes the appointment of I.O., H.Q., 1st Infantry Brigade,
on being appointed to the Regular Force. Dated 10 May 1957.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY
Territorial Force
1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. G. Pollard is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, in the rank of Captain. Dated 9 May 1957.
10th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
2nd Lieutenant J. S. Williams to be Lieutenant. Dated 18
February 1957.
12th Heavy Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
Major A. M. Smith, E.D., from the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major, with seniority from 1 July 1954. Dated
1 April 1957.
THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Territorial Force
Lieutenant-Colonel R. Trevor-Smith, O.B.E., E.D., A.M.I.C.E., M.N.Z.I.E., Retired List, relinquishes the appointment of
Colonel Commandant, R.N.Z.E. Dated 1 May 1957.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. Murray, O.B.E., A.M.I.C.E., M.N.Z.I.E., M.S.I.N.Z., F.R.I.C.S., Retired List, is appointed Colonel Commandant, R.N.Z.E. Dated 1 May 1957.
4th Field Park Squadron, R.N.Z.E.
2nd Lieutenant R. N. Franklin, M.SC.(HONS.), M.E., is transferred to the Regular Force, for service with the N.Z. Defence Scientific Corps. Dated 1 May 1957.

Lieutenant R. G. B. Coulam to be temp. Captain. Dated 1

Lieutenant R. T. G. Phillips is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, in
the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 10 May 1957.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. A. Treanor, 1st Battalion,
to be Captain. Dated 1 April 1957.
Captain R. A. Treanor, 1st Battalion, ceases to be attached
to the Whangarei Boys' High School Cadets, and is transferred to the Regular Force. Dated 10 May 1957.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own),
R.N.Z. Inf.
Lieutenant C. Cooke, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Auckland Regiment
(Countess of Ranfurly's Own), R.N.Z. Inf., in the rank of
Lieutenant, with seniority from 1 April 1954. Dated 8 May
1957.
Lieutenant P. R. Raue, M.A., 1st Battalion, ceases to be
seconded to H.Q., 1st Infantry Brigade, and is transferred to

Captain E. S. F. Holland, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Canterbury Regiment, R.N.Z. Inf., in the rank of Captain, with seniority from
1 October 1955. Dated 1 April 1957.

Captain G. K. Mills to be temp. Major. Dated 8 April 1957.
Lieutenant L. P. O'Sullivan is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps,
in the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 16 May 1957.
Glen Maddaford, late R.N.Z.A.F., is granted a short-service
Regular commission for a period of three years, in the rank
