TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waikareao Bridge Loan 1956, £120,000
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, at a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council held on the 13th day of May 1957, the following resolution was passed:
"That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £120,000 authorised to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a road and footbridge across the Waikareao Estuary, the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal five eight seven of a penny (0·587d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the borough of Tauranga; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half yearly on the 15th day of May and the 15th day of November in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

WAITEMATA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Reticulation Extension and Reinforcement Loan (1956) No. 2, £150,000, Portion £25,000
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and amendments and regulations made thereunder and all other powers enabling, the Board hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing half yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £25,000 authorised to be raised by the Waitemata Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of the further reticulation of electric power within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District, the Waitemata Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 9/1,000ths. of a 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the Gazette dated the 18th day of October 1923 and amended by Proclamation appearing in the Gazettes dated the 27th day of November 1924, the 26th day of August 1926, the 7th day of March 1929, the 24th day of January 1935, and the 14th day of April 1954; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board held on the 20th day of May 1957.

PRIVATE BILL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR LEAVE TO BRING IN A PRIVATE BILL
A Bill intituled "An Act to amend the St. John's College Trust Act 1923."
NOTICE is hereby given that the St. John's College Trust Board intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand during the present session for the passing of a Private Bill, the title of which is as above, and the short title of which shall be "The St. John's College Trust Amendment Act 1957," to give effect to the following object, namely, to permit the Board at its discretion from time to time to apply the whole or such portion as it thinks fit of the income from the scholarship funds referred to in the First Schedule of the principal Act towards the maintenance and support of candidates for Holy Orders whilst taking a course of studies for a degree or diploma at any university or university college within New Zealand approved by the Board.
Copies of the proposed Bill will, on or before the 1st day of June 1957, be deposited at the office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, and at the offices of the St. John's College Trust Board, 40 Shortland Street, Auckland, where the said copies may be inspected and obtained.

PRIVATE BILL
THE GRAND LODGE OF FREEMASONS OF NEW ZEALAND TRUSTEES AMENDMENT BILL
In the matter of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand Trustees Amendment Bill 1957, being a private bill intituled "An Act to amend the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand Trustees Act 1903."
NOTICE is hereby given that the person hereinafter named as promoter of the above-mentioned Bill intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled during the present session for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Bill.
The objects of the Bill are:
(a) To extend the provisions of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand Trustees Act 1903 to apply to any Masonic fund, institution, association, or organisation which is approved for the purposes of the Act by a resolution passed by a General Communication of Grand Lodge upon the recommendation of the Board of General Purposes of Grand Lodge and to the property and assets of any fund, institution, association, or organisation so approved and to the trustees of all such property and assets, in like manner as it applies to Grand Lodge and the property and assets of Grand Lodge and the trustees of Grand Lodge.
(b) To make provision that a certificate under the hand of the authorised representative for the time being or the acting authorised representative for the time being to the effect that a fund, institution, association, or organisation has been approved for the purposes of the Act shall be sufficient evidence that the fund, institution, association, or organisation named in the certificate is a Masonic fund, institution, association, or organisation to which the Act applies, and that it has been approved for the purposes of the Act in manner prescribed by the Act.
The promotor of the Bill is Frederick George Northern, of Wellington, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Antient, Free and Accepted Masons of New Zealand. The address of the promoter is care of Messrs Luckie, Hain, Wiren, and Kennard, Solicitors, 2nd Floor, D.I.C. Building, Brandon Street, Wellington, to which address all communications and notices may be sent. Printed copies of the Bill have been deposited in the office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives on the 29th day of May 1957 and at the offices of Messrs Luckie, Hain, Wiren, and Kennard aforesaid, where the said copies may be inspected and obtained.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
In the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to validate the change of name of The Bank of New Zealand Officers' Guarantee and Provident Association and to amend the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Guarantee and Provident Association Act 1900”.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association, a body corporate constituted by the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Guarantee and Provident Association Act 1900 under the name or style of “The Bank of New Zealand Officers' Guarantee and Provident Association” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Association”), intends to apply to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for leave to bring in the abovementioned Bill, the short title of which is the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association Amendment Act 1957.
The objects of the Bill are: (a) to declare that the change of name of the said Association purporting to be effected by a ballot of members of the said Association held on the 31st day of October 1955 was validly made; (b) to make provision for enabling the assets of the said Association held under its former name to be dealt with by the said Association under its new name; and (c) to amend the provisions of the Bank of New Zealand Officers’ Guarantee and Provident Association Act 1900 with respect to the mode of execution of contracts required to be executed under seal by the said Association.
The promotor of the Bill is the said The Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association, whose address for service of notices and communications is at the offices of its duly appointed solicitors, Messieurs Findlay, Hoggard, Cousins, and Armstrong, T. and G. Building, Grey Street, Wellington, where a copy of the Bill may be inspected.
Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before the 7th day of June 1957.
