Parekarangi Nos. 5B 5B, 5B 4B, and 5B 1 Blocks, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned Block; thence due south along a right line to and along the north-eastern side of the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway, to and up the left bank of the Rangitaiki River and up the left bank of the Wheao River, to a point in Block VI, Heruiwi Survey District, in line with the middle of the Otueta Stream; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station No. 74A (Otamapotiki) in Block VII, Heruiwi Survey District, and along another right line to Trig. Station A (Pohokura) in Block IX, Mangahopai West Survey District; thence westerly along another right line to Trig. Station No. 57 (Opureke) in Block VI, Runanga Survey District, and then south-westerly along a right line to a point in Block IX of the last-mentioned survey district, being the intersection of the western side of the Taupo-Napier State highway with the left bank of the Waipunga River; thence southerly down that left bank to and westerly up the left bank of the Mohaka River, to and up the right bank of the Ripia River, and continuing along the north-western boundary of Pakaututu Block, and again up the left bank of the aforesaid Mohaka River, to the middle of the Kaipo Stream in Block V, Aripia Survey District; thence along a right line to Trig. Station No. 1123 (Ahipaepae) on the southern boundary of Block XIV, Waitahanui Survey District, and along another right line to the southernmost corner of Tauranga Taupo No. 3A Block, on the southern boundary of Block XIII, Waitahanui Survey District aforesaid; thence south-westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Tongariro River and the Waipa Stream in Block XII, Pihanga Survey District, and then northerly down the middle of the Tongariro River to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Pongakawa Rabbit District Order 1957.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Pongakawa Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 25th day of March 1942,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE PONGAKAWA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of approximately 653,000 acres in the South Auckland Land District, in the Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga, and Whakatane Counties, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the shores of the Bay of Plenty where it is joined by the left bank of the Rangitaiki River, in Block V, Awaateatua Survey District, and running southerly generally up that left bank to the north-eastern side of the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State highway in Block XIII, Galatea Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along that north-eastern side to a point in Block VIII, Paeroa Survey District, due south of the southernmost corner of Rotomahana-Parekarangi No. 5B 1 Block; thence along a right line running due north to and along the north-eastern boundary of the State forest containing an area of 7,072 acres and 23 perches, and described in Gazette, 1929, page 231, the generally eastern and northern boundaries of the State forest containing an area of 444 acres 3 roods and 35 perches, and described in Gazette, 1929, page 231, to and along the north-eastern boundary of the State Forest described in section 5 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act 1926, and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Section 8, Block III, Paeroa Survey District, to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi No. 6A 2 No. 1B Block, crossing the intervening Rotorua-Taupo State highway twice, to the north-eastern side of the last-mentioned State highway; thence generally northerly along that north-eastern side, the eastern side of Fenton Street, the southern side of Sala Street, the generally eastern side of Cemetery Road, and the southern side of the Rotorua-Whakatane State highway, to and down the right bank of the Puarenga Stream, and along the eastern shores of Lake Rotorua, to and along the north-western bank of the Ohau Channel and the western shores of Lake Rotoiti, to and down the right bank of the Kaituna River to the shores of the Bay of Plenty aforesaid; thence south-easterly generally along the said shores to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Hawke's Bay Rabbit District Order 1957.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Hawke's Bay Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 5th day of January 1887,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE HAWKE'S BAY RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay and Wellington Land Districts, situate in Hawke's Bay and Rangitikei Counties, containing approximately 432,000 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at Trig. Station 65A, being a point on the boundary of the Taupo County (Gazette, 1933, page 12) in Block XXI, Kaweka Survey District; thence south-easterly by a right line between the said Trig. Station 65A and Trig. Station H (Don Juan) to the middle line of the Donald River; thence southerly down the middle of the Donald River to the Tutaekuri River; thence south-easterly down the middle of the Tutaekuri River to the sea and along the sea coast to the mouth of the Tukituki River; thence southerly up the middle of the Tukituki River to the production of the centre line of a public road in Block I, Kidnapper Survey District; thence westerly by that production, to and along the said public road, across the Waimarama Road, to and along the Te Mata Road to its junction with the Hastings-Havelock Road in Havelock North Town District; thence north-westerly along the Hastings-Havelock Road, to and along Heretaunga Street in the Borough of Hastings, to and along the Napier-Hastings via Fernhill Main highway to Fernhill Bridge at the crossing of the Ngaruroro River; thence northerly across that bridge to the middle line of the Ngaruroro River; thence westerly up the middle of the Ngaruroro River to its confluence with the Taruarau River; thence south-westerly up the Taruarau River, the Ikawatea Stream, the Makirikiri Stream to the southern boundary of Mangaohane A Block; thence north-westerly along the southern boundary of Mangaohane A Block to Trig. Station 79; thence in a general southerly direction along the summit of the Ruahine Range to the south-western boundary of the Hawke's Bay County (Gazette, 1942, page 950); thence north-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station 30 on Aorangi; thence south-westerly by a right line between the said Trig. Station 30 and Trig. Station 32 to the middle line of the Rangitikei River; thence northerly up the middle of the Rangitikei River to the Taupo County boundary; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the Taupo County (Gazette, 1933, page 12) to the point of commencement.

  2. The boundaries of the East Coast Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of December 1909,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
