FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Workers' Dwellings Loan 1957, £5,000
THE following resolution making special rate was passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Council held on the 29th day of April 1957:
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorised to be raised by the Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land, purchasing and erecting dwellings, and making advances to workers for housing, the Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought nought five five pence (.0055d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Franklin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

Roads Loan 1957, £45,000
THE following resolution making special rate was passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Council held on the 29th day of April 1957.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of forty-five thousand pounds (£45,000) authorised to be raised by the Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving main highways and other roads in the County of Franklin, the Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought six seven pence (.067d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Franklin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THE following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council held on 29 April 1957:
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Onehunga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £65,000 authorised to be raised by the Onehunga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for water and sewer-systems improvements, the said Onehunga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Onehunga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THE following resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Devonport Borough Council held on 17 April 1957:
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Devonport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £4,230 (four thousand, two hundred and thirty pounds) authorised to be raised by the Devonport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for erecting pensioners' flats, the said Devonport Borough Council makes a special rate of ¹⁄₃₂nd (one thirty-second) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Devonport; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and shall be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

DANNEVIRKE BOROUGH COUNCIL
SPORTS CENTRE WAR MEMORIAL LOAN 1957
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Dannevirke Borough Council proposes, at its meeting to be held on the 27th day of May 1957, to resolve as under:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) authorised to be raised by the Dannevirke Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the erection of the Sports Centre War Memorial at Dannevirke, the said Dannevirke Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of thirty-two eightieths of a penny (32/80d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprising the whole of the Borough of Dannevirke; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of eight years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS BILL
In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Private Bills and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled "An Act to declare the trusts upon which certain real and personal property is now held by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Trust Board (Incorporated) having its registered office at Scotia Place in the City of Auckland (hereinafter referred to as the Board) to confer certain necessary powers upon the Board and to provide rules for the Board and for other incidental matters to facilitate the management and administration of such real and personal property vested in the Board."
NOTICE is hereby given that Ariel Smith Ballif, of Auckland, the duly appointed controlling officer of the Church in New Zealand and designated the President of the Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand, intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for the passing of the above-mentioned Bill. The objects of the Bill are:
(a) To provide a set of rules for the said Board.
(b) To declare the trusts upon which real and personal property is vested in the said Board.
(c) To confirm the appointment of the present trustee members of the Board.
(d) To confer upon the Board:
(1) Power to hold land and money and other property.
(2) Specific powers with reference to all such property.
(3) To petition the Supreme Court to grant special powers.
(4) To accept the office of trustee.
(5) To operate a Common Investment Fund.
(e) To grant protection to all persons who may have dealings with the Board and other incidental powers.
The promoter of the Bill is the above-named Ariel Smith Ballif whose address is care of Messrs Luke, Cunningham and Clere, solicitors, 328 Lambton Quay, Wellington, to which address all communications and notices may be sent.
Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on the 26th day of April 1957, and the Bill may be inspected at the Office of Messrs Luke, Cunningham and Clere, the appointed solicitors for the promoter at the address aforesaid, and also at the office of Messrs Sellar, Bone and Cowell, solicitors for the Board, at their legal office, Royal Insurance Buildings, 109 Queen Street, in the City of Auckland.
