PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, that land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

ALL that piece of land in the Wellington Land District containing 7·3 perches, situated in the City of Wellington, being part Section 479, Town of Wellington; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 135190 (S.O. 22389) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Appointment and Cancellation
Maurice Seymour Clothier (688861) is granted a short-service commission in the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period of four years, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is appointed to the rank of Acting Pilot Officer, with effect from 12 December 1956. This cancels previous temporary commission notified in Gazette, No. 8, dated 31 January 1957, page 139.
Extension of Date of Retirement
The age for retirement of Squadron Leader Eric James Shaw, D.F.C. (70090), is extended for a period of two years, with effect from 4 April 1957.
Extensions of Commissions
Squadron Leader (temp.) Edward John Ernest Tompkins (74750) is granted an extension of his present commission terminating on 24 September 1963.
The under-mentioned Flight Lieutenants are granted extensions of their present commissions terminating on the dates shown:
